Well, I just started cross country this year, its my first. When I started to do the conditioning and the normal workouts, I seemed to do pretty good. Now its about halfway through the season and my legs get sooo tired during 5k races. My left foot also hurts like heck right below the achilles tendon on the back of the heel, and around the ankels as well. I have a meet in 2 days, should I take these two days off before it to heal a bit , or will it make me run worse on my meet as opposed if i ran those two days.

Take the time off.

First, I am worried about the pain around the ankles. That could be doing some damage there that you'll never outgrow.

Second, the pain around the back of the heel sounds like tendonitis, so I'd use ice 2 - 3 times a day for about 15-20 minutes each time. The pain may be really bad for the first few times - like a hot branding iron on the inside.

DON'T IGNORE these warning signs. I waited too long to treat tendonitis and it took me 5 years to get it back to manageable.

Probably now not a well concept to make use of Boomer as a medication puppy, you would by no means recognize while he might take fright at any person, and a growl isn't precisely the pleasant medication! My historic Lab. was once precisely as you describe, youngsters might do ANYTHING with him, but when a unusual grownup checked out him the incorrect manner the hackles might occasionly cross up. If you desire a well medication puppy can I endorse a Greyhound. My present puppy is a Grey, and they're the largest sooky puppies, do not want an excessive amount of undertaking (even though mine loves a 30 minute+ run), and are frequently very well with strangers. Being relatively tall they're very well medication puppies as they're large ample for persons in beds or wheelchairs to arrive out to with no need to stretch. Google your nearest adoption application, so much states or tracks have one, and you'll aid keep now not just a lovely animal, however get a puppy ideal for what you desire. Most Greys additionally love residing with different puppies, so I'm certain he and Boomer might be nice associates very quickly. My Grey made peers with our very aged Corgi very speedily, and on account that our historic Lab. died the Corgi now has a brand new mate and a complete new rent of existence. Good Luck with some thing you do, and congratulations on short of to aid much less lucky persons along with your puppies!

i have the same problem
im a freshman, and i am majorly overworked right now. What i do, is I still run all the interval and threshold workouts, and some of the longer endurance runs, but on all of our easy days, i aquajog instead.
This takes the pressure off of my legs and really helps prepare them for the race the next day. Water is really therapeutic and I would recommend making use of it as much as possible.
