Your cockatiel sings and dances (rapidly moves from side to side on the perch and/or bobs it's head up and down) when you leave the room because it is is trying to act cute so you'll come back and either stay in the room and interact with it or take it out of it's cage!

Cockatiels can form strong bonds with their owners. Otherwise quiet birds will frequently make contact calls with their owners, calls that sometimes can be quite loud if the person is out of sight. Cockatiels do have a reputation for being quite noisy and demanding of the attention of their owners. Their vocalizations range from ginger cheeps to piercing cries.

They can be made more secure (in the mood for singing/mimicry, playing, etc) when they have a consistent few hours of quality time per day with a person or in a person's company and a good night's sleep. (Cockatiels can require up to twelve hours of uninterrupted sleep.)

She loves you and you are her best friend. She just loves your attention and when they are awake the don't like to be alone.

I love all kinds of cockatiels. I own the normal grey ones, albino ones and pied one and some pied yellow split ones. They are all lovely in their own way. I own 12 cockatiels and have right now 10 eggs and 3 babies.

She enjoys watching you, and she wants you to come back. Say something to her as you leave, and as you come back; she will like that.
