Depending on where you lie you can do community service at any church, rescue squad, police station or non-profit organization like ASPCA if you like animals or Planned parenthood if you are Pro-choice... Personally I wanted to do something I enjoyed so I volunteered at a camp for the physically and mentally handicapped and I had a blast so there are a few suggestions and I hope they are helpful and good luck in school! Just find any non-profit organization especially one you are interested in... search the web by your area and they always, always need help and it looks great on college applications and ended up volunteering not only for community service but enjoyed it so much and made so many cool friends and it led me to other awesome ones I am still associated with... so give it a try and see what comes of it you never know what doors it will open for you! Good Luck hon!

Go to your local humane society. They are always in need of volunteers. It might make you realize a thing or two about the wastefulness and arrogance of our society there too, Bill Gates. Now go read a book or somethin'! You're wastin' our time here. If you're in National Honor Society, it's pretty sad that you are so sheltered or clueless that you don't know where to go volunteer your time to your community. Go to a nursing home and push wheelchairs. Those people would love to spend some time with a young person who cares about them.

Good for you for being in the National Honor Society.
Think of things you enjoy. Do you like kids? You could volunteer at the Y or a Boys or Girls Club. Do you like animals? You can volunteer at an animal shelter.
Do you like helping people? You could volunteer at a hospital. They have many opportunities, Bringing food trays, delivering flowers and cards, visiting and keeping someone company.
Ask your guidance counselor for some help.
Good Luck

Contact your local hospital, animal shelter, nursing home or even the senior citizens in your area and ask if you can help them with some chores. once you have done the work have them sign a paper as to what you did and how long it took you. Ask your local church if they know of anyone who may need some help.

I did a lot of shelving of books at my high school library during lunchtime. Some of my friends helped man the check-out desk, or stood guard at the door to keep people from stealing.
Your high school does have a library, right?

Volunteer at a retirement home, ask to volunteer at city hall, ask if the local fire/police departments need volunteers, local park districts, etc.
