Yes you can. Use either improved cylinder or modified choke.

Don't use saboted slugs, use rifled slugs.

Brenneke has a rifled slug with a sabot attached to the back - they are pretty accurate, and less expensive than most sabot type ammo. They are meant for smooth bore barrels.

Dedicated slug guns are a recent innovation. The vast majority of slugs that have been shot through the years were shot through a smoothbore barrel. But you want a fairly open choke.
Of historical interest (and still quite useful if you can afford one) are the guns that are smoothbore but with rifling in the last few inches before the muzzle. These were fairly popular among the English aristocracy about a century ago, and went under brand names like Paradox and Explora.

YES, ....As long as the shotgun has an Improved Cylinder, or Modified Choke. If it has an adjustable turn type choke mounted on the end of the barrel it's not a wise choice to shoot slugs. You should try several different brands of slugs to see what shoots the most accurately out of your particular shotgun...

yes with out any problems. use a rifled slug rather than a sabot slug. accuracy will very on choke size cylinder is best but a full will work too. if it is a full brenke makes a good slug for that. I have done it with great success for 12 yrs before going to a rifled barrel and sabot slugs

It depends on your Choke. If you have a tight set-up it won't work. A sluggun rifles the barrel, and has other features that make it more optimum. I use slugs in my 1100 several times a year.

if that is mushy bore, you may in uncomplicated terms use rifled slugs(rifling is on the slug) in it, they are made for use in mushy bores and to handle chokes. sabot or slugs meant for rifled barrels would desire to in uncomplicated terms be utilized in rifled barrels, in case you will attempt to apply one in a mushy bore with any form of choke different than cylinder, you will blow the gun up and specific kill your self, because of the fact the slug isn't made to bypass by using chokes.

Manufacturers recommend you only shoot rifled slugs in shotguns with Cylinder or improved cylinder chokes only.*
