I'm looking to set a default font size and face for text pasted into Microsoft Word. Is this possible?

That's kind of tough.... if you modify your Master MS Word Template and set a default font you want to use - when you paste, it COULD come in that way....or.... you can always right mouse button when you paste and it should bring up the little 'paste' box (at least word 2003) and you could select - the "keep format of document' kind of line..... Unfortunately, I believe that the default of almost any software is to pick of the font of whatever you're copying. You could try and see if there is something in the Tools/Options button of Word that will allow you to "keep formatting" when pasting...... worth a look.

There are some options in the Tools/Options setting under Edit - you might play with some of those.....

Default I don't know, sorry.
But if you look at the bottom right of what you pasted for a paste button click it for options, one of which is "Match Destiation Formatting"
If you don't see the Paste Options button.
Tools> Options> Edit tab check "Show Past Options Buttons"
