this is priced at $20 for 35 or 40lbs, still a cheaper food but not as cheap as t 9.99 for old yeller 50lbs

go to www.dogfoodanalysis.com and type in the brand name of the food, you'll see recommendations as well as a star rating on the particular food to help you decide whether you should feed it or not.

Not very impressive. Too much rice, the white rice especially is AWFUL, and there are artificial flavors and additives out the wazoo... not to mention there's no fruit or vegetables!

I'd go with a different brand. Here's some to try:

Artemis, Wellness, Merrick, Innova Evo, Canidae, Professional, Solid Gold, Orijen, Chicken Soup.

Unless it's human consumable chicken it can be a problem for some dogs, not to mention egg product(just what is that?), and barley is another allergen.

I'm feeding my chihuahuas California Natural products...Lamb and Rice.

Sounds great except for the beet pulp which has been known to cause dogs to chew their skin (itchy) and lick swollen feet, beet pulp is sugar. The rest is great!
One of the big things missing from any ingredient list, is the QUALITY of the ingredients. For example, two products could list chicken or chicken meal but you would not know from the list, if it is pet grade chicken, meaning unfit for human consumption. Pet-grade could include the diseased-ridden, e.g. salmonella-infected, rejects.

Just get some Canidae. It's tasty and very good for them. And not full of fillers. And don't worry about the price. A little more isn't going to break you.

Try it.
If your dog does well on this food, stick with it. If not, try something different.
