He seems to have congested sinuses and will blow out his nose regularly throughout the day when it gets very congested, liquid spraying from his nose. He seems very congested, poor thing. His eating and water drinking continues unabated, however. I am careful to wash his dishes everyday (since he often sneezes in his food). should I take him to the vet? Vets are unpleasant people: they charge you way too much and often misdiagnose. But they'll make sure you go home with a bag of their vet-endorsed pet food, of course!

Take the cat to a vet anyway. Cats are susceptible to all sorts of rinoviruses. It may clear up on its own, and then again, it could turn into something a lot worse.

I've never had a vet make sure I went home with their "vet-endorsed pet food". If your vet is doing that, go to a different one.

Your cat's already been suffering for a week so a course of antibiotics is probably in order. Please find a vet and get this kitten taken care of. Once they're on the antibiotics it only takes a couple of days for them to feel a lot better.

FYI - do NOT give this cat anything other than what your vet prescribes for you.

Sounds like your kitty either has a cold or Upper respitory infection

Check out the link above and see if the symptoms are similiar.

Your cat will need antibotics in order to fully recover. You can only get them from a vet. BUT you can buy vitamins over the counter. It is doubtful the kitty will fully recover without the antibotics... cat colds and human colds are different. A human cold can run its course...while a cat's cold will linger and get worse...

Sounds like he may have cat flu (very likely), or it may be a lower respiratory tract infection (less likely), might be cancer (unlikely), your vet although being unpleasant and overcharging may be able to offer a diagnosis (we sometimes get it right) and some meds to relieve his symptoms.

I know you didnt want to hear "vet" but I dont know what else to say.Animals need to see a vet, like people need to see the Dr, to be properly taken care.I have always had cats and never heard of this (unless he just has a cold.)I wish you luck:)

He may have a kitty cold. It's true; they get them too! He may need an antibiotic. I have had my 4 all sick at once.
Don't buy their food. Try Felidae, it's very good for them.

sounds like feline viral respiratory disease- aka, cat flu- or he could possibly be developing pnemonia. i'd play it safe and go to a vet. they'll probably prescribe some antibiotics.
