I want ivory for myself, and bridesmaids in a torquoise colour, and silver incorporated aswell. He wants canary yellow monaros as the wedding cars - which obviously clashes! I was thinking i could have a orange or something else in the flowers or change the bridesmaids dress colour which i dont really want to do!

Well i dont mind having those cars, and i know whatever i go with will make him happy cause im happy. So i'd really just like to work out a colour scheme that goes - without looking to islandish, which i def dont want!

Its mid August, which is Winter here in Australia. I should of mentioned the silver is only subtle in like the invites on on tables, and when i said torquoise its more a pale tiffany blue. I was thinking i could head towards old hollywood which would incorporate that sort of car nicely

His idea is fine! Sheesh, you aren't one of these brides who wants to match your table linens to your wedding dress, too, are you?

Canary yellow wouldn't look so great, either way. It's a bit too bright, unless you were going to do it in the form of flowers.
What I would suggest, is a tropical themed wedding if you want to incorporate all the colors. You could possibly have white for the dresses, and although I think the turquoise dresses are a little.. much... (you really don't want to make your bridesmaids look like a berry smoothie), there are ways to work it out.
Try toning it down to pastels. Whites, pastel blue, pastel yellow, and very light oranges would look fairly nice together. Main thing is, you need to talk it out with your fiance and sort something out. I know this is your wedding, but it is also his, too. You can't always have everything your way, and neither can he. So, that absolutely -requires- you to come to an agreement. Fighting about your marriage is not the way to go.

Why not go bright and beautiful? I would go with the colors just as they are. As I've learned, horrible is in the eye of the beholder. DON'T just bite your tongue and take it, but don't make him do the same. There is a compromise to be had here. There are varying tones of every color, and you may find that a slightly different tone compliment the other color perfectly.
You might try something with a provincial French palette. Try French blue with the yellow. Go to the local paint store and pick up every blue or yellow paint chip you can find, and just try holding up various combinations of color and seeing what looks good to you.
In every wedding, there are battles. If your color is that important to you, like number 3 on the list, pick this battle. Realize, though, that you will have to give into him on something else. If this is the one thing he is really excited about, let the poor guy have it. He isn't going to want to be in a wedding that he's had no say in planning.
Good luck on your color scheme- I know it will be beautiful no matter what you pick!

Keep the colors, who cares if it clashes. I actually think it will look cool. Like someone else said there won't be that many pictures with the cars. Don't change the colors or add orange to the flowers, because orange will definitely clash, but bright yellow I don't think will be that bad. After all it will be unique and even if it clashes the pictures will be cool.
another idea is only have a few color pictures with the cars and do the rest in black and white. It's amazing what they can do with digital photography now adays.

Of course you want things to match. Don't change your bridesmaids dress colors to match a car. Think about all the planning you've put into designing the color scheme for the wedding. It wouldn't just be the dresses, the favors and centerpieces may also need to be changed. So, the most sensible answer is to talk to your fiancee about changing the color of his yellow monaro to blue. This way the wedding plans don't need to be redone. There are other things for you to decide upon and finish!

You could keep all the colors, and incorporate the yellow in the flowers. Some flowers are in a blue/green color with a hint of yellow, which would tie in the car color. Maybe you could keep the cars and have the groom and his groomsmen have their photos taken with the car, and if you guys have your picture taken with the car in any way then have the photographer make it a black and white photo, so he gets the car and your colors are still in effect. I definatly wouldn't have orange, and that with torquoise wouldn't look good. Play around with the swatches of the colors and see if the florist can help...

Just explain to him that while you want to incorporate some of his ideas too, there are certain colours that just aren't really good for a wedding. Tell him canary yellow isn't really appropriate, or elegant, or quite what you invisioned for the wedding. Tell him you want it to be sophisticated and this yellow isn't really. Maybe tell him what colour you would like the cars to be, I suggest silver, and get him to come up with 5 cars that he likes and then you choose what sort of car together.

Teal looks great with bright colors. I was just at a wedding and the girls wore dresses in Alfred Angelo tealness color. It was beautiful. They had brightly colored flowers in yellow, orange, pink & purple. It looked great. If you put all of those colors in the flowers yellow cars will probably look cool. I had the same colored flowers (minus the orange and add in some light blue) and they looked great with periwinkle dresses. As for the silver - maybe have the girls wear silver shoes or have a silver accent on their dress.
I just saw your addition. If it is in the winter see if he can go with a silver car.

Lighten the torquoise and use the canary yellow as your dominant color.
I understand you have your "set" of wedding colors you want but it's half his wedding too so if he want's yellow you have to figure out a way to work it together.

First of all when the wedding? Is it the Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter?
Is it a Caribbean wedding?
The reason why I'm asking this is that those colours are mostly appropriate if you are getting married in the Caribbean ! Let us know when the wedding is and we will help you figure out the colours that are appropriate for the month of your wedding.

It just a car and only a small part of the whole wedding and day. You won't even have that many pictures with the cars. I would not even worry about it, but if it is a big deal than talk to him about the colors you have picked. Show him how it clashes and see if he is open to picking a different color car.
If that is the only thing yellow I would not worry about it. It is such a small part of the big day.
Congrats on your engagement!!
