Most people assume that during the *revolutionary war* Palu Revere was signaled and rode to warn the colonists shouting "the British are coming!"

This is incorrect. The revolutionary war is correct, but it was Paul that signaled and then he and at least 2 other riders warned the rebel colonists, most likely not shouting as that would have warned the Loyalists at the same time.

This points out the problem with the gospels being written a 70+ years after the actual events that they record.

Just prior to the start of the American Revolution. He warned the colonists, in Massachusetts, of the impending march of the British Soldiers, and their intention to seize military stores that the colonists had. This preceeded the Battle on Concord Green, and "The Shot Heard 'Round the World."
