Why can't they just go to church and shut up? Why must they try and get things removed from TV, Beat on my door at 8 in the morning try and stop places from having gambling and the like?
I don't walk around to people's door telling them why Jesus is a phony brought to power by a roman committee to control a populous that was becoming unruly. I don't go to church and hold up signs of aborted babies saying how great a hanger is for birth control. I sure don't go around telling them they are wrong for believing some man in the clouds created everything and evolution is the only answer.
Why can't they just shut up!

To answer your question, I guess for some of the same reasons that atheists sue to take down nativity scenes or 'ten commandment' plaques, or why they get all bent out of shape if someone wants to have a prayer in a public place, or why they get on Yahoo Answers and ridicule and criticize.
'Christians' are not the only group to comment/prosthelytize/share beliefs/etc. Why do you not mention the others in your rant? You can't be naive enough to think that only 'Christians' have ever tried to get things removed from TV (perhaps you're aware of some of the recent activities in Myanmar, or many of the Islamic nations, or even the atheists doing the same thing). If they come to your door, tell them you're not interested and send them on their merry way. (It sounds similar to coming to a forum such as Yahoo Answers and preaching your anti-Christian values). I guess it won't much good, but here is a bit of "Christian" advice you might take to heart: And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Living in a society you will come across a wide variety of people - some will agree with you, most will not. However, being civil and tolerant of others is something you should be able to do.

It's not just Christians. It's parents with children who don't think their seven year old should be watching things that are on tv today. It's people with family members who have gambling problems and know a casino is going to cause problems for their family and others who love someone who has a gambling problem.
Don't be so selfish that you don't try to see it from another person's perspective.

Where do you live that they bang on your door at 8am? Perhaps you should move to a quieter neighborhood. But in general, 90% of the filth on television is detrimental to all intelligent minds, which is all humanity. Christ was the only begotten Son of the Living God, and the "roman commitee" had him crucified. There is no "man in the clouds", not even Christ. Those who believe in the clouds of rapture feel better about the future, but their future does not rest in the clouds. All must be tried, as so many Christians have fallen far from the vine.

You know what? I am tired of people lumping us all the
same. I believe but haven't been to church in a long time
due to self righteous ones who turned out to be hypocrites.
I know there are good ones out there though. I don't go
banging on peoples doors. The only time I tell what I
believe is when people ask me.
There will always be ones who do what you are complaining
about so don't answer the door.

Because we have a social conscience.
When the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and his congregation at Ebenezer Baptist Church started the Civil Rights Movement, there were people like you in white robes telling them to just sit down (in the back of the bus) and shut up.
When Christians went around trying to stop prisoner abuse in the Roman Empire, stop Gladiator combat in the coliseum, establish universal education, established the first hospitals, the first charities, the first hospitals, and campaigned for the human rights that you take for granted, there were people like you who told us to go mind our own business.
And when the Christians supported abolition to end slavery, first in the UK, then in the US, there were people like you who told us to mind our own business.
Good thing that we didn't listen.

Perhaps you do not know, Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world.
Do you really expect us to set there and do nothing while others (not you) try to destroy Religionious freedom?

I love this verse! Revelation 3:15-16 "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth" Just in case you didn't know that is Jesus talking.
John 15: 18-19 "18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you."
Your just proving that you are of the world because you hate us.
I am glad you hate me, it just proves the Holy Bible is accurate.

We are minding our business that is the Father's business. Jesus told us to go to all the world & make desciples for Him In Mat. 28. I pray that what ever it takes for you to be saved will happen in your life , because your soul is that perecious to God. So I suggest that you strap on your seatbelt for the ride.
