if the idea ofgod is in the head of someone how can anyone else say it doesnt exist??
reality is measured by self cognition not by general consensus...in that way we all should agree that memories dont exist??? and when i say memories i dont mean the fact the memories recall but the personal impression an experience left on someone...
god exists as long as one person believes since no one in here is a god and can limit and trace the boundaries of reality...Are thoughts real? if so the same authority that makes them real makes the thought of god real
I am philosophical today, normally i am more an anti christian agnostic with atheist tendencies...
now that i think of it we maybe should talk about an internal reality and an external one...but can we say an external reality exists?? since an external reality is just what we can perceive through our senses then subject to our perception and therefore only exists because we perceive it , same as god.

like does sound exist???
is sound just the way we perceive waves?
maybe sound is no more than the decodification our brain does of waves, but outside us it doesnt exist...and scientifically you can prove the waves not the sound.

but jolly this repeatedobservation is based on trust...based on assuming what we perceive is real... howdo you know the sound you hear really exists outside ofyou andit is not just the reaction your brain has to waves?? we can just assume sound is real because we perceive it or because it is the onlyway our brain has of translating the waves but outside of us the noise doesnt exist

The next time that you walk into an art gallery, ask yourself if any of the artwork in there spontaneously popped into existence and evolved from the paints, without an artist.

Reality is not in perception but in repeatable and consistent observations from multiple sources. A memory may be a correct memory put the reality is distorted from a viewpoint i.e a child remembers a table as big, but when viewing the table as an adult it doesn't appear as big.
Based on this, I'd say that internal reality is always suspect, it is only reality tha can be measured and confirmed by repeatable known standards that exists.

Not quite fully developed, but better than assuming that what you perceive is real

Exist in what context? For such a being to "exist" one must first agree as to what Real or even Absolute "Existance" is - and at his point physics is having a real problem proving whether WE actually exist in the grand scheme of things!

If existance is only defined as the material World (Universe) of atoms, then NO, God doesn't exist. What is a god? Is it the Creator? Because the Creator God goes by many names from many different cultures from the beginnings of human existance to the present - not just One! Exactly why is the Xtian/ Hebrew/ Muslim God superior to someone else's gods?

Is it because some ancient prophets said so? Must everyone have to conceed that, Yes, here's a Man with a Plan, who knows what 'It's All About', so let's follow him! At last! An END to Risk, an end to worry over Uncertainty, and an Answer to the nagging and uncomfortable questions your children ask y'all. It takes Someone with a great deal of arrogance, egotism and narrow- minded thinking to come up with such an idea!

Is, the term "god" is generic term to mean a being with superior rights or powers than Mankind, who dwells in a Realm superior to ourown, that we mortals must appease, obey, and grovel to continue our lives in Peace?

How about a deified Ideal, as in the Ideal Plane of Plato that is the Orginial Reality, of which our world, and All Worlds, is only Shadows of?

Mebbe the ideas of God are just a psychological meme that has no rationality, only excuses, but simply won't die because it's become attached to Humanity like a remora, and won't let go?

In every case, you, the individual person will decide what youl'll believe and whether you'll lead, or whom you'll follow, Your choice of an Authority for doing so may be the Bible, or Someone in Authority, or a specialist in spirituality, or a hoary, ancient and honored Tradition, or even None of the Above, but, in end you'll choose....

I would generally buy into the law of conservatism on this issue. Without sufficient basis to doubt an external and independent reality, it makes more sense to believe it. Whether or not God is part of this independent reality is a different question; I happen to believe he is.

Yes, I can assure you that I personally would never get religious about the existence of a god, any god, including a weather god ;).

It is possible to say God doesn't exist, but do we know the truth? No, we can't possibly know until after death, but by then, we'll be either in Heaven or Hell, according to certain religions.

But when we're there, we STAY there, says the certain religions, also. As such, we won't be able to allow other souls to know the truth.

Honestly, there is no proof God doesn't exist, but no proof he does, either. I would be Agnostic, but I just flat out don't think it's possible for something so ignorant could exist.

We can say God doesn't exist within reality.

Of course it is.
Do I have to prove there ISN'T a teapot orbiting Saturn for you to believe it?
Of course not.
The burden of proof rests on those who say god exists, and so far, not one of them has been able to do so.
Gee, I wonder why?

You are talking metaphysical versus physical.

Sound, as you said, is measured in waves.

There is no evidence of god. Not even prayer.

Racism is a construct. But it only exists in our head. Once we get rid of this ridiculous notion then we can heal racism.

See?
