Can the school/staff give a student a ticket/citation for having shirt tucked out?

In my school, it is in the rules/dress code that students must have their shirts tucked in. This is my third year in my high school and most student dont give a shiznit, so they are going to start giving citations to students with their shirts tucked out... not only a "citation" a mothafrikkin $250 dolla one!!! I dont think its true juzz tryna scare us... but what do u think? Can i do something about it if i get one?

That sounds like they are trying to scare you. I would say really research this topic and become informed on it. Present your case to the school district. $250 for a shirt not being tucked in sounds like a rumor, but nevertheless, if that happens, parents will end up paying that money, and there is no way in heck they are going to want to do that. Make a case to parents and the district about what the financial hardship would be for such a ridiculous rule. But I highly doubt they can even legally implement such a thing.

If it's an established policy, then, yes, they can give you a citation. And if you signed the usual agreement, or were informed of the rules in some orientation, then there is little you can do other than pay the citation if you get it.

Rumors of this type circulate on a regular basis. Keep your shirt tucked in for a few days while you figure out if it's the real deal or only rumor.

If you want to change the rules, start with your school's Student Council and the district's Board of Education.
Prepare a well-reasoned presentation and fortify your argument with a petition signed by as many people as you can gather.

Can you do something about it if you get a citation? Sure. You can pay it. The thing to do, if it really bothers you, is to do something about it BEFORE you get a citation. How do the other kids feel about it? How does the student council feel about it? How do the parents feel about it? How long ago was that rule set in place?
There is also the question of whether there are fines for other dress code violations, or if this is a 'cruel and unusual punishment' in which case you may be able to use your civil liberties to have it overturned. But do something about it before you get tagged, not after. Or, if everyone else agrees that it's a good thing and they are willing to pony up fines of $250 for not having their shirts tucked in, maybe you should think about transferring to a more liberal school

Its funny how they can make up all the rules and also govern the price tag. On one rule, a student cant have their shirt tucked out and charge the parents $250. On another rule they can take your precious child and take them to have an abortion without even telling you about. it.

You answered your own question, it's in the dress code and the violation fine is set high enough that parents and or the student will feel the squeeze financially so that will put a stop to kids looking sloppy in the school.

It know it sounds so old school but how you dress and how you conduct yourself, inside the school and out reflects on your school's repuation , not to mention your own.

So tuck that shirt in or start savin 250 for each infraction.

I'd pin my shirt tail to the inside of my britches to make dern sure that sucker didn't get out. Dress codes are normally supported by the community, if you wanna appeal, do so with your shirt tucked in BEFORE you get any citations.

The schools don't have "legal" authority to issue tickets like that.
