YES - there are secret doors on ships. And I've found lots of them. They are normally located in the front of the ship or in the back.
A "secret door" will take you out to a balcony on the ship, that most people do not know about.
Most people will not go through these doors because they are not marked - and they normally will think it is for crew members only. If any door, is not marked with "CREW ONLY" or with a cabin number - you can go through it.
We had the Owners Suite on the Empress of the Seas, and the "secret door" was right next to our suite. It lead out to a big balcony right in front of the ship under the bridge.

I've heard of the secrete door. It is called the secrete door because very few people know of it, and it cannot be see from the hallway (until you get to the end of the hallway and look left or right).
On the Carnival Glory is is on the Lido deck, all the way forward. When you go out of the door you will be on an observation deck above the bridge. You can even go out above the bridge wings and look down the side of the ship like this ...

The above photo is from my cruise on the Carnival Glory in April/May 2006.

I have been on eight cruises and going on another in Nov. I have never heard of a secret door. I doubt if there is one. It's just a tall tale.
