the sound that other people hear is different to what you hear yourself. cameras make you sound abit different. unless of course you have a really good one.

You 'think' you sing 'good' but your voice sounds very different to other people. That 'recording' of your voice is what you REALLY sound like. If I were you, I'd take singing lessons so you can learn how to 'sing properly' ... not just hit the notes properly, but breath properly, 'project' your voice properly, etc. You may 'sing well' but you do need some help to do so. I'm sorry to tell you but that 'recording' on your camera is what you REALLY sound like.

You might sound better with some higher quality equipment because there is usually a lot of distortion and noise otherwise. Also people can sound different to themselves than what they do in reality, but i would guess you would've figured that out already by asking a friend.

if your friends and family are the only people who tell you you sing good.....yet your camera makes you sound so bad then maybe the cameras the only one with enough guts to tell you the truth?
cuz i sound the exact same on my camera as i do in real life....

its half yourself half the camera, no matter what you record yourself w/, it wont sound as good... so work on what you hear on the camera, and as you record it will sound better, you may think its the camera when its really you improving

because when you hear yourself speak you are hearing it coming mainly from inside your own body as opposed from a source that isnt internal. when it comes from your own vocal cords your ears will hear it differently because the ears, nose, and mouth are connected and the sound travels a certain way to get to your ear, as opposed to a sound coming from someone else. your voice will sound one way from your point of hearing, but like the recording to everyone else.

because everyone voice sounds different from what they think it actually does. so when you record your voice it shows you that maybe you don't sound as good as you think!

no offense, but we have all seen american idol... 75 percent of people who think they can sing actually cant!

Because the camera can't lie to you like your head can. My guess is that you are delusional and think you are a good singer. Which you aren't. The camera is right and you are WRONG! hahaa
