Ten pounds a month is not too excessive, but you'll need more than broth. Consult a doctor concerning this, it is definitely not healthy to drastically alter your diet in the way you describe. Good luck.

1-2 Lbs a week is the only way you'll be able to keep the weight off once its off. By March, that would be 48 Lbs maximum.
And just broths is NOT a good idea. We need to eat real foods for our bodies to function. If you just drink broths, you'll likely end up with many other health problems, which will not make you any happier about yourself.
I recommend seeing a Registered Dietitian

You can lose around 50 pounds by March but you need to be realistic with your eating habbits. You won't be able to complete your plan of consuming only liquids. My guess is that you'll be in a sever form of malnutrition after a month of that. You say you haven't been able to stick to a calorie restricted diet, how do you plan to stick with a liquid only diet. My guess is that it'll be a lot harder than just cutting back on calories. Your plan isn't going to work.
Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

YES!
I joined weight watchers last March and lost 42 pounds by August (Averaging a 10 pound loss per month). Also, it certainly wouldn't hurt for me to tell you that portion is everything. Instead of eating a whole candy bar, eat half of one, hell, eat HALF of everything you eat and you will never have a weight problem.Drink 8 - 10 glasses of water a day, green tea is very good for your body as an antioxidant and help subtly speed up the metabolism. Salads (without fatty dressings and cheese) are very good for you, chicken is the king of meat in my opinion, as long as you don't fry it. Avoid fast food entirely, and walk anywhere you can as often as possible and get ahold of the 8-10 minute tae bo if you can. Drink diet sodas and juices (aka - cherry coke zero, sobe lean, crystal light, etc.) avoid sugar, switch to the 100 calorie snack packs, including popcorn. Eat apples, they are very filling! Cheese is an unecessary evil as well, so is milk, if you have to have it, drink the fat free kind. 100 calorie popcorn is a great snack. Eat turkey lunchmeat instead of a whole sandwich, etc. Eating is necessary, over eating is not. I also have a meal shake in place of a meal, I find it incredibly helpful at 3:00 in the afternoon.

That is not a healthy way to go. Even if you succeed in losing weight, it will not stay off when you eat real food again. It is not AT ALL a realistic way to live for very long, because sooner or later you are going to want to consume something that you actually have to chew.
Have you tried Weight Watchers? It is all about portion control and making good choices, but nothing is specifically "off limits".

Don't be silly about your health. Go and see a deitrician - they will set a healthy diet for you. And don't set such a big goal - go small like 10lbs by Christmas. They are more achievable and will make you feel more positive about your weight loss. YOu need to have more than just fluids because when and if you do loose the weight and start eating properly the weight will stack back on really quickly. Make sure you exercise as well.

Ten pounds a month is a realistic goal, but you have to combine portion/calorie control with exercise. They key is to move more and eat less. I suggest going to Weight Watchers. Check out their website for a meeting near you. Best wishes!

nooo dont do that, then if you ever start eating again you will gain it all back and it will make you feel even worse!!! just run a few miles a day.. it dosent even have to be ran. jog.. ride a bike.. do something. drink alot of water too and when you wake up in the morning every day youll feel better. yes your goal is realistic if you try hard enough and once you see small results youll want to keep going until your happy with yourself! its worth the try and not all people are willing to put in the time and energy to do it.. good luck!

drinking nothing but broth is a bad idea, broth is high in sodium and useless calories, your body needs food, real food. just make sure and excercize and eat right. actually eating small amounts of healthy foods several times a day is better than eating nothing, drink lots of water too. check this out. good luck.

My friend you are lazy, am sorry to tell you this.
If you truly want to lose weight, start going to the the grocer and buy real food fresh vegetables and fruits, lean mean and fish, cereals, and go home and cook for yourself.
Start doing lots of exercises, drink plenty of water and fresh fruit juices.
As for the household chores, stop using machines and put your body to work.
While doing all this have a positive attitude and it will definately work.
Good Luck (10 Points for me)
