Jimmie Johnson to win back to back Championships this year. Your thoughts?

I think his chances of winning it again this year are pretty good. last year when he won it and when he missed it by 8 points in 2004 he started off in a big hole but finished strong. The upcoming tracks are some of his favorites and being in the lead right now has to make him a slight favorite at this point. I know a lot of people dislike him and won't give him the credit he deserves but his consistency is undeniable. He has led every major statistical category since (overall) 2002, has never missed the chase and his worse finish ever is 5th. Jeff Gordon has had a better average finish this year but Jimmie has won more and run up front on a more consistent basis. If not for a few cut tires he would have had an even better regular season. Now with the experience from being in this position before and the confidence he has in his equipment and crew chief they will be tough to beat this year.

FIX for SIX (Jeff already has four championships as a driver and one as an owner so this could be his sixth overall. I'd have to do more research but he could be the only person to go back to back as both a driver AND an owner.)

I'm not a fan of either one, but I'm thinking it will come down to either Gordon or Johnson. I'd lean towards Gordon, simply because, whether people believe it or not, sometimes, it's just your year, you know?

The difference between Gordon and Johnson is, Gordon's capable of getting more out of his car. If his team can get it adjusted during the race to be a top ten car, Gordon's good enough to squeeze a top 5 out of it.

Johnson, on the other hand, while he's a good race car driver, he can't do anything with the car on his own. If his crew gets him dialed in to the top ten, say, 8th, that's where he'll finish. He's completely dependent on his team to get him to the front.

Jimmie has been looking pretty good since the chase began. He has a good chance. But, I am in the same mind set as some of the others. I too am wondering if Bowyer is going to pull off a big upset, as in surprise. He certainly seems to think he can do it!

Possibly.
Before Johnson it's gonna be Kenseth, recently they've saved the best cars for last. Matt Kenseth will be the one to beat, after him Jimmie Johnson, then 3rd is Jeff Burton

No player has ever even led the league in 2 of the 3 categories the year after they won. A .400 AVG is really the greatest individual accomplishment IMO, though consecutive triple crowns (especially now) woudl be pretty close.

I hope all of Joe Gibbs Chevrolet's take a well earned vacation to get them use to what next year will be like. None if them will have racing jobs on Sunday because they won't even qualify and if they happen to luck out they will be getting in every-ones way with an off-shore owned company piece of crap.

Could be done. It will not be the first time it has been done. Winning the chase is not that big of a deal and just about anyone could win. The first winner of the chase was Busch. I rest my case.

I think so but i would like to see Gordon win it with the points lead that he had before the Chase began.

I'm hoping Jeff Gordon wins it unless he loses it by 300+ points.
