Illegal Immigration is a drain on society. Unfortunately nothing will ever really be done about it. The reason is because Americans would have a fit if they had to pay even more for food than what they already do, More for hotels, or motels, dining out, domestic help and all of the other jobs that illegal immigrants hold. If we want to stop illegal immigrations we have to be willing to except the consequences which will be higher prices on goods and services. We have to force employeers to stop hiring them by assessing higher fines. If we make it more expensive to hire and illegal immigrant than it would be cost effective to hire one it will stop the jobs. Meaning if it will cost the employeer more in fines and penalties than what he is saving by hiring one. If there are no jobs then there is no reason for them to immigrate to the United States, We also have to stop giving aid to Mexico until they start showing that they are taking care of their own people. If we close the borders and trade with Mexico until they start taking care of their own it will force the Mexican goverment to step up to the plate. I have no problem with immigrants, if they do it legally and become productive members of society. By doing it illegally they are not contributing anything to society. By being paid as little as they do our money is going to support them and their families both here and in Mexico, (by giving them food stamps, welfare, free medical etc)

We should try to control legal immigration. If all the illegal workers would be found and sent back--our economy would suffer.
Would you want to be out in a hot field all day, picking grapes, in a poison infested field?

I would assume that most of these people would be willing to pay their share if allowed to make a fair living.

It's illegal. I am most angry that Bush has considered giving illegal immigrants our Social Security! I am 28 and will probably not see a dime because it will run out, why should those who haven't paid in get it?!?!

I think it sucks. These people get more help than US citizens. Our jobs are being taken because they are willing to work hard and earn much less than the average American. I also think it's unfair to the children of these people who did not make the choice to come here illegally, yet here they are. When they become legal age they can't apply for a license or get a good job. It sucks for the children to be illegal and affects their future.

I do not like illegal immigration. When there are taxes to pay and only so many governmental resources that should go to the citizens who are already legally here, it pisses me off when people sneak into the country illegally.

I do not support anything illegal. If a person wants to be considered a citizen of whatever country they live in, then said person needs to go through the right, legal channels to do so.

The solution is to get welfare American off their behind and take the jobs that these illegals are doing. When illegals don't have jobs here, they'll go home!

illegal immigration is no different than drugs dealing, terrorism or any other criminal activity - it should be tackled in the same way - with zero tolerance.
