i dont usually make instant rice but you can substitute chicken or beef or vegi broth for water. if you dont have that you could add boulion. or any spices that you like. also if you want fresh veggies, you could add some chopped celery & carrotts in the water when you put it to boil

I many times chop up some zucchini, green peppers, mushrooms, and onions and marinate them with balsamic vinegar, greater virgin olive oil, rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper. I throw them interior the oven for half-hour at 500 F and stir approximately each and every 10 minutes. I positioned the greens over the rice and the sauce provides various flavor to the white rice.

I cook them like the box says and then I add a little soy sauce.

Or I cook them and add a little sugar about a tablespoon for a cup and a little butter about half of a tablespoon.

The first one is salty and the second is sugary. I make it different for whatever I craving.

I use chicken broth with a touch of curry powder. Then after it's done I add soy sauce and a bit of dark sesame oil. It's kind of like fried rice.

Substitute some of the water for herb flavored tomatoe sauce. It makes great spanish, italian or mexican rice depending on the type used.

I don't think it needs much. I put in extra butter when it's done cooking, and make sure I add the butter and salt it calls for while its cooking.
