you should have been honest and told her you were cold is why you had it on. but told her she looked nice if you liked how she looked and maybe offered to share it with her. let her get warm and then switch back. she might have been friendlier if you had.

I guess in our society 'a gentleman' is expected to be chivalrous and give a lady preferential or 'caring' treatment but I think in some ways it's overrated. I feel it creates a dependency in women on men. I think this expectation of men in society comes from the fact that men can take more (endure cold, higher endurance ON AVERAGE) than men can - so men are supposed to be the protectors and such...blahh blah
I guess if I were her I would never have asked!! HA - got my pride to maintain plus I don't like to feel I owe others anything. Now if you had offered without her prompting, that would have been a whole other matter.
I think you were probably considered 'selfish and stupid' by someone who was watching....hope this helps.

No, that's not stupid or selfish. It's cold and she should get her own jacket and look at the weather outside before she gets out of the house. I hate people like that...

selfish, yes, and you sound like a teen. think of it this way, would you want someone looking and thinking, and being the same way to your sister, mother, aunt, grandmother... Get the picture....
Remember guys, the way you act to woman, I bet you wouldn't want any guy to treat your mother this way! Better start thinking about this, because if you have daughters of your own. What goes around, always comes back to haunt you.

OMG! Yeah. You were A. Not letting her borrow her sweatshirt because you were cold, even when she had a tank on. and B. Not letting her use it so you could look at her. GROSS. Sorry if that sounds harsh but yeah, you were selfish and gross!

You blew it but stop beating yourself up for it. Do better the next time and maybe tell her that you're sorry for not being a gentleman to her and loaning her your "hoodie" and that you felt bad about it afterwords.

Did you really have to ask this question? You know that the right thing to do would have been to loan your sweat shirt to the girl. Always be a gentleman, the girls will never forget it!

Dude, you're blowing it.
The girl was flirting with you, and now because of your selfish acts you won't be getting any tonight.
Way to go.
Next time, give her the jacket to wear. Geeez.
