world. Do you think that by winning a world war, that we have
right to dictate to the world? Before you spout off that we dont, history shows we do. I am not saying it in a bad way, but, should we as a nation feel we are allowed to? What if we would have lost?

After the second world war, we felt that we had to help rebuild the war torn areas of the world. We undertook this task gladly, because we are a very generous people, and we wanted to share our way of life with others, so that they might also share our standard of living. The theory was that if everyone was prosperous, there wouldn't have to be any more wars.
The down side of this was that with the aid that we gave came conditions. With conditions came resentment by the nations that we helped, and resentment by Americans that the nations we were helping were ungrateful. This resentment is the predecessor of the current anger that is directed at us by the rest of the world. They want our money, but they don't want the conditions that go with it. As to your question, do we have the right to stick our noses into their business, we do if we are paying for that right, and as long as they want our money, they have to tolerate it. We are just like any bank who loans money, we want to know what that money is for, and we want assurance that it will be repaid.

Your premise is somewhat flawed. We became a super power because of WWI not WWII, Our status was confirmed in WWII. It is not so much we have stuck our noses in everywhere, it was a matter of there were power vacuums that got created by WWII. And there were some powers who saw fit to move into those vacuums for their own gain. We were forced to protect our own interests by moving in where we did, many times by invitation. The problem is that because of technological advances, partially because of our being forced to do what we did, we now have more interests to protect and some very unwilling partners out there who want us to pay the price so they do not. You are right in one respect, our leaders need to look at what our people want and stop going too fast without explaining to us why they want to do certain thngs. And we need to extract politically something from our friends we are protecting and are helping. They need to help pay for all this. By the way, there never was a fear that we would lose WWII. In some respects we might have gotten Japan to come into the war sooner than they planned. There is good evidence that Roosevelt wanted to be in the war and took steps to get the Japanese to do something. He was surprised at what they did, not expecting they had the ability to get to Pearl Harbor, but he wanted a skirmish so we could come into the war. He needed something to help pull us out of the depression, and war does that. This could explain Bush, who inherited an economoy that was going into recession, which has not yet hit because of his war efforts. Iraq would have happened without 9/11

I'm not sure that what you're saying is true. By the time of the Spanish-American War of 1898, we were already a major power. Maybe not number 1, but pretty substantial. US military power tipped the balance of power in World War I in favor of the allies, and the axis powers collapsed less than a year after our entry. We've been badasses for longer than you think...

After WWII, we shifted to a "cold war" with the Soviet Union and had to influence many countries that may have gone Communist if we didn't support certain governments even though they may have not been totally democratic. It's all a game of world domination and we didn't want to lose to the Soviets....it would have been much harder or impossible to trade with foreign countries or access certain vital raw materials had we not been able to influence them to our way of thinking.. Our country's success and stability lies in other nations being free to trade with us, the protection of our rights as a nation to live in peace and not be dominated by another superpower---which was an "evil empire"--- that is out to destroy us.

Yes we have that right. We saved the world from dictatorship and it is our job to help freedom loving people everywhere to have the chance for the freedoms we have here. If every country in teh world would translate the US constitution into their language and adopt it as their own then the whole world would be better off.

when did america win ww2?
if i remember correctly, it was joint forces that defeated the germans.
which makes the whole 'dictating the world' thing even more annoying.
