In reference to Coco Cay: Sunglasses and Sunscreen! In all seriousness. My family and I were on Coco Cay this July, we applied sunscreen before we got off the ship and within an hour we were burning. Do you think any of us brought more with us to re-apply? Nope! We all got a nice burn!
As for the sunglasses, the sand is white and it is soooooo bright that without sunglasses it is very hard to open your eyes.

Well I've been to these ports several times. Nassau is usually a good time. Since it's your first time there 1st thing you'll wanna do is take pictures, place looks like a post card come to life when you pull up. Then a popular option is take a taxi $4 (don't take the water taxi drops you off miles away & costs the same) to Atlantis to check out the casino & aquariam. There's a beach near by or you could go to Cable Beach. When you get back to the port you can shop( I agree skip the straw market). Also for drinks they have a Sr Frogs where you'll probably find alot of the other passengers at. Every time I went we left around 6pm so didnt' get a chance to check out any nighlife. Coco Cay is a private island so only you & the other passengers will be there. Pretty much just going to the beach & having lunch there ( free barbeque ). You may wanna rent a mat so you can layout in the ocean ($10) You could also book a jet ski excursion. In Key West I pretty much just walked around Duval & had a few drinks. It's early but all the bars open up for the ship's arrival. Check out Sloppy Joe's & other infamous bars. I live in Miami & go to the Keys on weekend trips, so when I stop there on a cruise I dont do much else. But you may wanna take the Conch tour ($25) makes stops at a bunch of places (Hemingways' house, shops, the famous Key W. sign, etc) . Alot of great food here too. Hope you have a great time : )

By formal, they mean suits for men, cocktail type dresses and heels for women. it's fun though, they take pictures that you can buy later. you'll obviously want to bring a swimsuit even if you don't plan on swiming, theres hot tubs and stuff, sunglasses, sunscreen, all the basics. They may or may not say anything about the liquor you try to bring on board, some cruise lines like Princess tend to look the other way, if they notice they may charge you a corkage fee. If you buy liquor from one of the duty free shops on the ship they'll keep it till the end of the cruise. If you want to save money on drinks you can order bottles of liquor from room service for about the same price as an expensive liquor store. it's okay to overpack for a cruise, you don't really handle your luggage that much anyway, so if your in doubt about something, just bring it.

There are actually only 1 formal night for a 4 night cruise. Dressed up means doesnt neccessarily mean ballgowns, some people do, most do not. I normally wear a nice dress, one that isn't that formal but one that I could wear to a wedding. Guys are normally in suits, or just shirts and ties. The other nights are causal, but NO JEANS.
Do not bring alcohol in your suitcase... they dont allow it. Although you might be able to sneak it past and get in on board as I know some have, but why break rules!

Congratulations! I have done this cruise a few times!
If you have a favorite "little black dress" that is fine.. even a nice pair of slacks & blouse will do...
Suggestions to bring: Passport as well as a copy
Insulated water container that has a strap ( handy for shore excursions )
Extra shoes incase heels/straps break ( happens more often that you think! )
More than 1 swimsuit
Of course medications, aspirin, sunscreen, etc
Pack light.. you won't need as much as you may think!
You can find much info online ... check out cruiselinefans.com
Have a wonderful time!

I've never been on a cruise, but I heard they have a formal dress attire for dinner. I'd get a cute cocktail dress, nothing too fancy that makes you feel awkward if no one else is "dressed up" Try finding something that you can give a different look to by adding some key pieces of jewelry. (I never take valuable pieces with me on vacation, but there's nothing wrong with wearing (dare I say it) fake diamonds. No one has to know :)
Take your bathing suits of course, cover-ups, sun dresses and sandals. Don't forget your sun screen, sun glasses and hat to shield the sun. Get a nice size bag to fit all this stuff in to take with you once you reach your ports.
I don't know about you, but I get a little bit of a heat rash from being out in the sun. I get it mainly on my chest and neck. If you happen to experience it, just make sure you have something on hand that will make it feel better, like calamine and baby powder helps.

i went on a crusie that went to all three of those places. first off, you will have an amazing time!! make suree you have one of the island drinks they sell at coco key! there AMAZING!! haha, and second off. for the formal nights...i usually where like a cocktail hour dress or a jean skirt and a nice shirt. they dont REALLY care if you dress up but they suggest it. just a nicer outfit than you usually wear but not like black tie fancy!!
HAVE FUNN!! =D

I've been on a cruise before and they mean dresses or a really nice skirt and top.If it isnt that formal, you will look like the prettiest person there. All eyes will be on you. :)Also for your CELL...it wont work at sea but while docked you should have a signal.
P.S. be prepared for Key West...its sort of run down...but they have good key lime pie at this one place...the building is yellow and its sort of small.go and try!:))))

I just came back from the bahamas....the disney cruise line.......it was fun. anywhoo, when i was there, a lot of people asked you things, like "wanna taxi"? "want your hair beaded"? etc....beggers.....but anyway.......it was really hot outside, so i would bring something cool, and your feet will hurt, so bring tennis shoes, something comfortable. bring a lot of money, there are some cool things that are cheap so you might wanna buy a lot..you never know.
and you have to get dressed up, just dont wear jeans or shorts..something layed back...nothing that you would wear to the beach or to walmart.

i would suggest you to bring alchool in your luggages, (if your old enough to drink, and if you do drink ) in case you want to do drinks in your room, and also because the drinks are expensive. if you stop at island and buy alchool, they will keep it with them until the end of the trip, so make sure its in your luggages. You might also want to bring advils or anything that would work if you ever get sea sick.
