Any suggestions on how to ease nipple pain besides over the counter pain medicine? I've tried this already and it's not helping. They are very tender, sore, and sensitive. I'm not pregnant (100% sure), and I'm not on my period. No mean or rude comments, please.

It's been going on for about a week. I'm not pregnant, on my period, having sex, or on birth control. I don't have any discharge. I'd like some tips on how to ease the pain.

Also, I've been wearing the same bra for a while, so I'm not allergic to the material- same with detergents. I don't run, and haven't exposed my breasts to any unusual friction, hot or cold. I believe it is hormonal, but I don't remember it hurting so much in the past.

Depending on where you are at in your cycle your period could be coming soon.

For the pain you can also try a warm, wet face towel to see if that helps the pain.

Also, please check with your doctor for additional suggestions.

It really depends on the cause. Are you allergic to the material in your bra? Are they chafed from jogging or working out? Is it the skin that hurts, or the tissue underneath?

If it's the skin, get some bag balm from the store. Comes in a square green tin.

If it's pain in the tissue in your breast, you need to see a doctor.

I can't really help you with an answer, but you have any bodily symptoms that you are concerned about, you should definitely not be afraid to consult your physician. It might be a little embarrassing, but it's always better to be sure and you will be glad you did it.

If you have pain in your nipples it is not normal and you should not self medicate without seeing a GP. It is Breast Cancer Awareness month (see my 360 blog), for your own safety do go and see your GP as soon as possible.

pain in this area aside from pregnancy is not normal.. you really should see your obg and possibly have a mammogram or ultrasound,,, it could be something small like a clogged duct to something more so you really should pay a visit to your doc.
