Your little one definately can distinguish you from other ppl but I'm not sure how good their eyesite is. Since they're not nocturnal, I would assume they can see better than other rodents (such as rats, mice & hamsters) but they do get a lot of their information from smell & sound.

Guinea pigs mostly identify you by scent and sound. After a guinea pig gets to know you, they will be able to recognize your footsteps and will get excited when you walk near the cage. I'm pretty sure my guinea pig recognizes my touch. She responds best when I pet her, rather than someone else in my family.

Hmm... I know that they can only see green blue orange and red... I think they can recognize you but they probably know you best with their smell.

sometimes i joke that my two recognise me as a walking giant carrot the way they carry on and squeel.
