Last summer I strictly drank Lipton green tea as part of a diet regimen. I began feeling a pain in the stomach and the symtpons of a urinary tract infection. I noticed that after I quit drinking this tea and stuck to water the infection disappeared.

No, green tea does not cause UTIs (urinary tract infections). It is thought though that green tea might prevent bladder inflammation but studies need to be done to verify it. The most common cause of UTI is improper wiping which is why they are also far more common in females than in males.

To prevent UTIs:
when you have to go, go! don't put it off
drink plenty of fluids
wipe front to back
showers instead of baths
avoid hygiene sprays
avoid douches

Drinking plenty of fluids is major. Drinking water and cranberry juice is great, however inexperienced tea is pleasant. However, as different humans have mentioned, you have to see a health practitioner to get antibiotics. The handiest option to healing the contamination is to take antibiotics. If left untreated, the contamination will unfold and intent kidney harm and different severe disorders. Keep ingesting fluids, and spot a health practitioner.
