I experienced this same dilemma in high school for the senior cruise.
I got a part time job, paid the deposit myself, then begged my mom and dad to help out.
I asked in advance my older sister, and grandparents to consider a "grad gift" in advance of a monetary donation to afford the trip.
With hard work, perserverance and a positive attitude, I got to go on the trip...the best ever!
I suggest not bothering them too much, as they are likely wanting you to be able to go, and bummed they cannot just shell out the dough, but you need to show them you too can contribute.
GOOD LUCK!

The biggest thing that I can offer is for you to get a job and fun it yourself. If you really wanted to go you would find a way to get yourself there. My family operates like a unit where we all function together to accomplish what we need to in a day, and in my opinion doing your chores and helping around the house is what you should be doing anyhow.
Simply filling out the applications doesn't show your parents anything other than the fact that you're good at putting up a front to get their sympathies. Turn them back in, properly filled out, and work as much as you can while maintaining a good GPA. Maybe then, if your parents are able, they will chip in to help you pay the remaining costs.

Wow, this is a tough one. Do you know for a fact that your family can afford this trip? If so, maybe have your best friend's parents talk to your parents. $2500 for that kind of trip is really reasonable. Do you have grand parent's? Aunts and Uncles? Maybe you could ask them to chip in. Also, could you possibly try and run a fund raiser with your friends, like washing cars? Every little bit will help. If your parent's see you trying so hard, hopefully they will come around and say o.k.

A lesson in life that is hard to swallow.... you don't always get everything you want. I've had to deal with that all my life. As I was growing up, there were so many things I couldn't do because of the lack of money. Even now, same story. That's life.
Realistically, $2500 is a lot of money to raise. It's possible so best wishes.

Dogs are expensive and they are a lot of work. Your best bet would be to try to get an older dog from a shelter. They are past the puppy stage and don't need all the puppy shots. The shelters usually pay for the dogs to be spayed. Otherwise you will have to wait until you can afford it. Sorry! :(

Your parents are trying to make ends meet, if they don't have the money you have to understand that. They are doing the best they can, you need to cut them a break and realize that you probably won't be going. I am sure if they had the money they would have sent you.

You don't say how old you are and what grade you are in. That could be a big factor in your parent's decision.
