I'm not sure that there is a law specifically stating that we must file income tax returns, but the 16th amendment states that the US has the right to tax us and to collect those taxes.
So I would say that the tax returns are a form of collecting those taxes.

Title 26 of the US Code.
You don't have to agree with it, you just have to comply.
If you think your tax bite is bad, move to Europe. You'll typically pay twice as much over there. I lived in Europe for 10 years. Loved it, except for the co$t! Try $3 per gallon of gas just for the tax! And sales taxes (VAT) of around 20%.

they say that the Tax Code is the regulation. i won't enable you to comprehend a) the place interior the Tax Code it fairly is stated, or b) if the Tax Code is extremely a regulation, or c) if that regulation is constitutional. people who say "the sixteenth substitute" do not probably comprehend the substantial factors. The sixteenth substitute isn't a regulation requiring you to pay the earnings tax, it fairly is an substitute addressing the apportionment of taxation because it applies to federal firms. there are a number of questions surrounding the legality of the Federal earnings tax. people who dare to question it are viciously attacked and discredited. so as that leads me to have faith the IRS has some thing to conceal. there is not any preferrred courtroom case upholding the federal earnings tax as constitutional, that i comprehend of. i'm in elementary terms conscious of the single that asserts in any different case (Brushaber v. Union Pacific Railroad, 1916).

What part of the answers to this question the previous times it has been asked, multiple times a day most days, don't you understand? If you're just going to continue to deny that it exists, not much anyone can do to help you.
