First off they said they were going to do one section at a time, so do the top right the first week, the top left the second week or so, and then the bottom right the week after that, and then the bottom left after that. I'M SCARED TO DEATH!! I've gotting shots before, but not since I was about 7 or so, so I can't remember. I'm really nervous and wanna know how bad it will hurt each time on a scale of 1-10, and 10 being the worst..? i'm 15.Thanks

NO it won't HURT! These days it doesn't hurt one bit. It will be UNCOMFORTABLE at most.

My 8 yr old son has had several things done lately to his teeth. His dentist used some sort of GAS that keeps him aware of whats going on PLUS uses the Novocaine shots for the deadening while performing the necessary dental work.

The needles they use are so MICRO-THIN you can hardly feel them. The pain comes from your mind I think.

Just breathe deeply and close your eyes. Hold onto the arm rest and squeeze it hard. Wiggle your feet or think of something else! DON'T ask or let them tell you what they are going to do or are doing. The less you know the better! :-)

My son usually eats shortly after-wards and is fine within a few hours after-wards also! The funny feeling from the Novocaine will usually go away in about 2-3 hours. You MIGHT feel some pain after-wards. Take Tylenol or some pain reliever if you need to.

The shots will pinch, I won't lie, but if you close your eyes and relax it will really be over before you know it.

After that, the fillings will not hurt at all. If you feel anything like pain, let your dentist know. He may need to give you more novacaine.

You'll be numb for a little while, but you shouldn't have any pain after that!

Just remember, you don't want to go through this again so keep your teeth clean and get regular exams and you hopefully won't have to get any more fillings.

It will hurt when they put the needle in your mouth to numb it with Novicane. Then it will feel uncomfortable sitting there with your mouth open. I would suggest getting no more than two done at a time. On a scale of 1-10 , i would say 5. Not that terrible.

when my lil brother was 9 he had this done on a tooth or two. said the needle felt like somewhere in between a misquito bite and a bee sting (but closer to the misquito bite) he was a lil kid when this was done and said it really wasnt that bad.

the shot is actually probably the worst part. after that you dont feel a single thing.

I've had a couple fillings in my mouth, but I don't remember them being painful. I remember when they used the different tools it felt weird, kind of tingly or strange, but there was no pain. I don't even recall having any local anesthetic or painkiller. I really don't think it will hurt at all.

PAIN IS A RELTIVE THING. MOST PEOPLE WANT SHOTS, BUT I HAD ONE PATIENT WHO WAS MORE SCARED OF THE NEEDLE THAN THE ACTUAL DRILL.
IN REALITY IT ISN'T BAD AT ALL.

For starters it will feel as if someone hit your teeth with
a golf club. You will have to eat soft stuff for about
a week. also the scale thing ummmm It would have to be
past ten maybe 15

when you say fillings do u mean cavaty fillings, if u do yes it will hurt because they first put a shot into ur gum so ur mouth will be numb. then they fill ur tooth. later ur mouth wont feel anything for like 24 hours.
