Learn,
Don't take it personally...the right-wing "Christian" mob likes to slander EVERYone who isn't one of "them"----including Catholics (the original Christian religion!)
I thank "God" every single day that I'm not one of 'em ;)
Edit: Oldguy, I was raised a Christian and don't you tell me for one minute that women are men's equals in that faith. Additionally, I think you are getting Muslims confused with the Japanese; Muslim women are NOT required to walk behind their husbands.

The tone of the Koran is soothing and peaceful to the reader (exploiting the common human latent sense of self-righteousness), but some of the content is not. What is bad is the fact that Mohammed flies into rages with people opposing him. Inevitably the less stable muslim is going to be inspired to violence.
Unfortunately it is known that christian evangelists have a lot of trouble "in the natural" (ie intimidation, violence etc) in muslim lands as your religion prohibits conversion, so muslim fanatics get insensed and create trouble for christian missionaries. So we can see the Jezebelic nature of Islam - no compulsion in religion?? Its not pretty behaviour, even though it is true that the Koran soothes a reader with a sense of his own goodness and muslim rituals are enjoyable for the doer, so the muslim may see it as a religion of peace.
----
Oops - I ought also to mention the fact tha Mohammed conquered Arabia, and that his close companions, the first 4 caliphs conquered Iraq, Persia, Syria, Egypt and much of the South Mediterranean coast. Outside Arabia it was conquering and taking over politcal control, but still ** that is most certainly not peaceful **! I think if conditions were favourable for Mohammedans there would perhaps be a reversion to that kind of behaviour. If those muslim terrorists get hold of nukes, it will be interesting to see what they do - the nature of the beast will then be clear.

Look, You evidently don't live on the same Earth that the rest of us do. The Islam nation is trying to wipe the Christians and Jews off the face of the Earth as you are reading this message. Get your head out of the sand and look around yourself a little. These people didn't start with America, that's just the ones at hand for now. We are just the ones that declared "We will not go quietly into the night". You have had the wool pulled over your eyes to believe these things. WAKE UP and open your eyes and see the evil that is around all us.....

I don't see the justification of your arguments here. Since we both have the same Old testament, one cannot really argue from that. I find the new testament exceedingly peaceful, tolerant and sane. For example, Jesus's apostle, Peter takes up a sword to defend Jesus against the guard coming to arrest him. Peter cuts off a mans ear and is told by Jesus to put down the sword "those who live by the sword, die by the sword" then Jesus proceeds to heal the mans ear. How is that not peaceful? Never once in the new testament is there a mention of anything that would indicate a less than peaceful attitude towards others. Rather it seems quite the opposite: "do good unto those whom despise you" amongst a plethora of others.
It seems your knowledge and estimation of christianity is quite off. Please become more informed before making such statements.
Secondly, I don't believe the people in the middle east can blame ANOTHER country for having extremist leaders rise to power! Thats like me blaming you for my own choice to date an extremist, hateful, person. They ALLOWED those corrupt leaders to come to power. One person can only lead people somewhere they have decided to go. Don't be so ignorant. If everyone in the middle east woke up tomorrow and decided they had enough rediculous violence, hatred, suicide bombings, beheadings and the like and actually took RESPONSIBILITY for changing themselves and their government the world would be different. This applies to ANY nation or person, regardless of religious belief.
Womans rights? The right to be beat to death for showing an inch more skin than is "allowed"? The right to be subservient to a man and be undeducated? These are extreme situations. But they HAVE happened in Muslim countries.

Because I think people need to know the truth about Islam. I think you are deceived yourself in trying to promote what you are. Other than the Bible teaching that women should not rule in the church what other restrictions are there on women in the Bible? We walk side by side, men and women. Women do not walk 10 paces behind the man. You should read the Bible sometime.

This article was on the front page of todays Canadian national newspaper. It's an inside look at the intolerance taught in Canadain mosques.
Mosque says to avoid Western holidays,
"compared wishing someone a Merry Christmas to congratulating a murderer."

Islam is deceiving millions and taking them away from God. But there seem to be more and more people prophecying that you will come to God by the millions, and I'm praying he will show you his light soon. Watch for an "invasion" of non-western missionaries to Islamic lands, the Koreans in Afghanistan were a very small tip of the iceberg. When the truth is brought to you, please don't resist. God loves you and truly wants what's best for you.
And you don't have to wait for everyone else, you can come to Christ now:

There is NOTHING tolerant about a book that tells it's reader to "kill the infidel".
And from what I've learned, Islam knows very little about women's rights, unfortunately,
I pray that God will enlighten your heart with His truths!
God bless!
