stopped bleeding. Is there anything I can do besides just wait? I'd like to have some soup but I'm afraid to with it still bleeding. Should I have the soup or wait?

I had 2 of mine removed and they bleed till the next morning. As long as the bleeding is not very bad you can eat some soup. NOT HOT thou. If the bleeding is more than you think it should be after about 10 hours call the dentist...Good luck

I had my wisdom tooth pulled a few months ago and it bled for a very long time as well. I didn't take the gauze out until right before I went to bed. I would wait a little while longer and drink the liquid part of the soup only. Don't risk accidentally chewing on food.

Dont eat or drink hot or cold foods for the next few hours!!
your tooth needs to bleed so it can build up and "plug"the hole. this going to help you in the long run you don't want to dry this spot out or you will have what's called dry socket
and then the dentist is going to cut your month open and make it bleed all over again!
just sit on your couch and watch a movie for the time being. all you can really do is wait!
Sorry!
I had a dry socket once and only once and it's more painful than putting up with a little blood now!

My wisdom tooth bled for almost 24 hours. Not heaps, but enough to be able to taste it.
If your hungry, have the soup and put some more gauze in when you are finished. I don't hink there's anything to do but wait. If its still bleeding heavily, I'd ring the dentist.

Don't have soup until 24 hours after the surgery unless the idea of a "dry socket" appeals to you.

If you are still bleeding heavily (napkins are still blood-soaked) 4 hours post extraction, return to the oral surgeon and tell him to stop the bleeding. He can cauterize the site to control the bleeding.

I just got mine pulled 5 days ago and mine was bleeding for 2 days. What I did while my mouth was still numb is eat ice cream or drink a milk shake. That's what helped me. I really didn't feel like eating anything. It's up to you to eat or not me when I ate something I through it all all up because of all the blood I guess I swallowed during sugery. But everyones different.

You would do better to wait. I was stuck with the gauze for about 4 hours, and you'll enjoy your soup more.
good luck :D I just got mine out in august.
i also reccomend some really well cooked macaroni and cheese or mashed potatoes if you get sick of soup!

i wouldnt eat anything while its still bleeding. It normally takes wisdom teeth longer to stop bleeding than molars etc. I know it sounds.. and will taste... rancid, But mix some salt in lukewarm water and gargle it as you would do with mouthwash, do this a couple of times. It should stop the bleeding, if it doesnt stop it completely, it will still minimise the possibly of infection. after you do so, bite down, but not too hard, on cotton wool. Hopefully it'll work. good luck. tell me how it goes

How much is it bleeding? A lot or a little? I have heard of it bleeding for a while, but i dont see any harm in eating some soup. Just be careful and dont get any thing stuck in the hole could cause a dry socket.

Just do it. then rinse it out and put the gauze back in. I had all those wisdom teeth pulled at once. Try not to swallow the blood or you get a belly ache and keep it clean cause your susceptible to infection and it could spread easily thats all and you probable got antibiotics for that but still keep it clean even thought you will have to be gentle there for a while.
