I am trying to have it so that this spreadsheet has say, an upper half which is scrollable from rows 1 to 10, while on the same spreadsheet, there is a separate section with its own rows 1 to 10 which are also scrollable...basically how do i mount a spreadsheet onto another so that they're both visible on the same spreadsheet but scrolling through them is independent of each spreadsheet? (if this makes sense...)

You want to split the window.

go to the menu: Window -> Split

you now have four windows and you can scroll in each one separately.

Use the Help system to learn more about this.

Or

Window Menu -> New Window
this give you two views of the same spreadsheet.
Then go back to menu and choose

Window -> Arrange -> Compare Side by side

If you want to open 2 workbooks, then open the 2 workbooks
To view it
1. side by side, go to menu window, arrange.., vertical
2. top to bottom go to menu window, arrange.., horizontal

Make the 2 workbooks on same worksheet with independent scrolling is not possible unless you copy and paste 1 of the worksheet onto another, select 2 cell across column, then go to menu window, split, adjust the panes by dragging the bar in between.
Hope this helps.

I've tried this and I'm sure there is an easier way .. but the solution I am using it to make two spreadsheets and interlink the information .. now file them separately and open them individually, shrink to half desktop size and view them independently .. sorry this sounds long winded but it's the only way I have managed so far .. and I use it for four sections
