Just a couple years to new 1884 280ZX and earlier had the in line 6 cyl engine and those car accept the Skyline L-6 engine easier. But there driveline parts are only good enough for about 250 HP.

Not without a ton of work. The Z32 has a 3.0L V6 that sits low and far back. The Skyline RB26 is a 2.6L (smaller engine=bad) inline 6, so it's very long. It doesn't fit under the hood without thousands upon thousands of dollars of work. Honestly, a V8 would fit better (and make more power) than the Skyline RB. Also, consider this. Stock Z32 twin turbo engine=300hp, aluminum block, with turbos weighs about 550lbs. Stock RB26DETT twin turbo skyline engine=276hp, iron block, without turbos weighs about 700lbs. Stock LS1 V8=350hp, aluminum block, no turbos necessary, weighs about 430lbs.

yer hey listen to the nissan master he knows it all hey

86 300zx 2 door right, hmm...rb26 from the r33 motors will fit that
the engine bay is quite big on the 300zx you could even fit a v8 if you really wanted to, maybe a SR20DET would go alright good thing is its a 2.0ltr, but any skyline motor will fit, try a RB30E from the old R31 they'll fit, seeya

Tons of motors can fit in it that thing. Its all on how much fab work and modifications you have to do to the firewall, cross member and transmission tunnel. Sure it fits, its all on whether the swap is even worth the time and money.
