cover all the cracks that you think it can get into so it wont be able to get into the walls and such. whenever i lose my hamster, i dont look for it. i usually end up just seeing it walking around from about 7pm-4am. so you'll have to stay up. you could also try putting hamster food in each room. this worked the first time i tried it. i put food in each room, and i listened to see if i heard any hamster chewing/biting. when i did, i found my hamster eating. also, even if you dont have food, still listen, cuz they can scratch the walls, and bite on some stuff that will make noises. dont listen to music or watch tv. try to find it fast, sometimes hamsters will chew up your carpet. mine did that, we have a lot of holes now....

It won't try to find its owner because its memory span is barel 5 seconds s it barely remembers its owner!!! It may show up but it will likely be exploring a new world.... just go buy a humane trap put some fruit and veggies in it catch the hamster and put it back and make sure the doors aren't easily opened by the hamster if it is just but twist ties on the doors!... wow people.... a hamster isn't a dog... AND LEAVING IT WON'T SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM!! I have had 7 hamsters.... so you better get off you butt now and go buy that humane trap because the hamster can get hurt!!

-LUCK!!;)

My teaching partner used to have a hamster that would escape all the time. Mostly it was due to little children that wouldn't lock the cage. After his 2 month run of the heater (we are not sure how he made it) through the school, he did make it back to his classroom. We used to set "traps" to catch him... the one that caught him was a large block leaning against a trash can with food going up the block. He ate his way up the block and fell into the trash can. Don't worry, we had padded his landing and he was ok. The children were glad to have their pet back and they learned to make sure that his cage was closed.

Not to worry you - but the same thing happened to me a few years ago. My hamster got out while i was at work, i looked all over- tried everything i could think of to find it. Two years later, when we moved, i found what was left of it in the attic. i have no idea how he got there, but he didnt live through the cold winter(or hot summer)-- anyway, i would suggest leaving food out. Hopefully he (or she) hasnt found the way into the attic. I do wish you lots of luck.

After my hamster got out, I couldn't find him ANYWHERE and I search basically every nook and cranny in my apartment. Eventually, I gave up and just put a little bit of food in the corner of each room. If you see the food missing, then you can narrow down your search. I saw my hammy eating away at the pile of food I had left in one of the rooms, caught him, and put him back in the cage.

First, attempt looking below something with a small pass slowly area below it, or in the back of dressers, or something that a hamster can pass slowly in the back of... i had a hamster that have been given out of his exercising ball and that i've got cats!! thankfully we discovered him in the back of the textile cabinet... if none of that works attempt putting the cage on the floor with nutrition or treats in it and it could come again to the cage only attempt to maintain an eye fixed on it.

Leave carrots, broccoli, or whatever, out around the house and wait for it to come out of its hiding place to get it. They get hungry pretty quick and they have a really good sense of smell. My daughters hamster escaped every now and again, it worked for us.

Well, what id advise you to do is too check in small places, especially if they are warm. (Hamsters like warmth) Also, i read somewhere that if you leave some food out, (kinda like a food trail to lure her in) its prob likely that the hamster, being hungry will head toward the food chances are you'll walk into the room and see her/him sitting in the room, gnawing happily away.

Leave out and around it will come out when it gets hungry. Look in closets and under bed and in shoes. They like hiding in dark places.
Now word of caution if you have rat poison out get it up until you find your hamster.

because they want to adventure! lol they aren't hidding they're snooping around. that's what mine did when i found her she was under my bed running around XD. i hope you find your daughters hamster. I hope for your daughters sake you don't have a cat in the house... leave food outside of its cage like a carrot or something it will smell it and come for it. =D
