I was just wondering if the question and answer deleting police would be happy if the guidelines were changed so that the asker or answerer deleted could know who deleted them and for what reason they claimed offense???

Yeah, I know i'm asking this in "dogs" but thats because this is where the biggest problem tat I've seen exists. I post 80% of my ?'s & Answers in Football, which is crowded with testosterone driven football fanatics and they don't go around deleting ?'s & answers because they get their feelings hurt or opinions contradicted. They simply remark on their answer or add details and move on. I personally find MOST of the people here in "dogs" to be genuinely honest and sincere people. Freedom of speech and yes even opinion, in AMERICA, is what we fought to death for, and it sickens me that some fiendish troll can censor at will. Personal diff aside, what is your thoughts on this as it appears in "dogs"?

I agree with the separation of kids and adults to an extent...no kids under 12 would be rule #1, because I have a 12 yr old and I do NOT allow him to "chat" with anyone on ANY website, regardless if he was talking about his dog or his changing voice.
Thanks to all the objective answerers.

I think the reporting feature should be removed or only allowed if the answer is truly offensive with things like name calling and obscenities. I do not think that people's opinions should be removed, whether they are popular or not. I do not report people for their answers unless they are obscene or insulting.

You do understand that this does not apply? This is internet. These are privately owned servers. So some rule about the US government not curtailing the speech of its citizens isnt really a factor.

From what I have seen, most deleted things arent all that hard to understand if you read the guidelines. It has to be a question, which is expecting to receive an answer. It cannot be a chat or a rant. It must be by someone `3 or older. It must be clear and worded in a nice manner.

Hmmm come to think of it, you arent really expecting this question to stay up are you?

I'm all for a age change. No 13 year old know anything about dogs other than what to put on her doggie next to make it look dreamy!
As far as knowing who is reporting you I dont see YA doing that at all. It seems that here it doesnt matter who because that one person probably ha s multiple accounts and does a good job all on her own.

Tres undos: I'm right behind you! Amen and let get back to free speach and freedom of speach too!

They changed the format of the reporting tool a long time ago. You used to be able to put in a comment for Community Guideline Violations, now you can only put them in if using the 2nd option in reporting (Violence, Harm to Others, Etc.).

Good idea. I think if the "reporter" was listed, it would decrease it a lot. Of course, if the nimrods on YA! would not allow a good question to be deleted in the first place, the people would stop reporting too.

I'm all for it. I'll be happy to tell anyone I'd report that I'm reporting them. (I've only done it twice).

We are entitled to our opinions. Personally, I LIKE seeing a different opinion than mine. I certainly don't know everything and that's why I hang out here. I get a fresh perspective on a daily basis. =)

I can type that with a straight face because that's TOTALLY different than ignorance and abuse. Those questions go right through me.

EDIT
They are now Daily QUESTIONS honey.. QUESTIONs....

St Lady, great idea! Separate the juveniles from the adults. Now what do you think the registration form would look like?

Go to the next link if your name is Holly or Veruca

Click this box if your dog is bleeding and you are on the computer

Enter your intitials if your _____________ - poo is the cutest wittle puffy puppy in da whole wide world!!!

That would probably separate us properly.

I like this idea. It bothers me about someone's post was reported because it's a poll. What are these people thinking? Daily polls are fun.

Fantastic idea. :o)

Of course... I'm someone who is willing to stand by whatever it is I've said... or admit I'm wrong... not everyone is.

Edit: AMEN, tres.unodos!!!!

I do not have to LIKE an answer, nor do I have to LIKE its format to AGREE with it! And I absolutely agree.. Free Speech!!
