Okay, I have this friend and her mom claims to be a Christian. They go to Church a few times a week and seem pretty normal, but I've noticed something weird they've been doing lately...
They used to have this VERY sweet dog a few years ago, and they put her to sleep. When I asked why, I found out that the daughter was pulling on the dogs ears and hitting her in the face (basically, being obnoxious). They dog kept growling but she still wouldn't stop, so he snapped at her.
Now, I saw her after this happened, and she didn't even have a red MARK on her face from the "bite"! Nothing! And they put her to sleep. And I babysit their daughter, I know she's a drama queen. If you blow on her, she'll start crying and say you broke her leg!
Also, last year they put their cat to sleep because it peed in their bed. They didn't even try to put it up for adoption or see if anyone would want it. They just immediatly put it to sleep.

Oh and they also killed an entire tank of fish by pouring a whole container of food in their tank. Also, last year they had an outdoor rabbit and an indoor guinua pig that stayed inside. Both of them "mysteriously died" they same exact day...
Also, their 2-year-old son came over once and took my fish out of it's bowl and walked around with it. I was hysterical, but their mom didn't care at all. I know he was too young to know it was not okay, but what bothers me is how their mom didn't care...

Sadly, it's not legally "abuse," but it's clearly the sign of bad people who don't deserve to own pets.
I really hate people like that. They get under my skin.

Legally these actions do not meet the definition of abuse, but that doesn't make them right.
If I were you, I would do a few things. First I would call your local humane society and see what suggestions they have. Then, I would bring some information pamplets to these people about humane societies and rescue networks in your area that are willing to take in unwanted animals. Third, the next time you think they may be considering putting an animal down for rediculous reason (like the ones you mentioned) you could offer to take the animal to the humane society for them. That way, it is no longer their problem and you will feel better knowing the pet at least has a chance at being adopted by someone is a responsible and caring pet owner.
I'm sorry you're in this situation, thats a tough one :(.

I need to upload anything right here. While I battle towards each and I am a difficult middle animal lover, permit's be truly right here. If I see anybody abusing a puppy and on the certain equal time anybody harming a baby, I will react to each, however I am going to get that baby out of there first. Emilie, I am additionally amazed that a few men and women don't importance human lifestyles greater than this. As I mentioned, they similarly appall me and one can not particularly be separated from the opposite, correct together with elder abuse. All ought to be stopped. At the equal time, we need to have a few purpose and good judgment relating to this. I might hate to be installed that concern and I might wish if I used to be faced with this, there might be adequate men and women round so we would give up each

Yes, it is animal abuse an they should be reported immediately before they end the life of any more innocent animals. Owning or having a pet is a huge responsibility that is work. You don't buy an animal and expect it to change to fit in with your lifestyle. Animals lack the intelligence needed to do this. They live and act as instinct dictates. People like this, should be jailed or at least banned from owning any form of animal life. I wouldn't be sure if I would even trust them with a plant. Grrr, people like this irritate me to no end. Please contact the law about these people and their conduct.

Any one can call themselves Christian, that does not mean a thing. It is the actions that tell the true story; these people ain't christian. It seem to border on abuse to me. Cats do pee and dogs nip brat kids, neither is a good reason to put either down. But even the state of NJ puts dogs down who nip brat kids, it is a hard world out there.

Yes, this is animal abuse and I would talk NICELY to them and see how they respond, offer to take any future problem pets!!! They would NEVER do this to a humane so it is inhumane. My male pet rat (almost always) pees and poops on me and I would never hurt sweet, cute, little Timpleton for the world!!! You should offer to take the horses or if you do not have enough space for them ex least find them a home. If none of the above works then you should call the Animal Abuse people and have this family taken under salience or fined or something. They could still be Christians, maybe just inpatient. You should try preaching to them and praying for them. I am telling you prayer works!!! Your second best bet (praying is your ultimate best)would to be to talk to your friend because you do not know what her opinion on all of this is, maybe if she is remorseful she could talk to her parents and little sister. You may not want to take all of my advice because I am new to this kind of thing and an inexperienced in this type of situation but you should really stick w/ the prayer part. Hope this helps???

Legally its not abuse, but morally it is. Those people do not deserve to have pets and need to be told such. Maybe since they keep getting animals and killing them someone should buy them a life size stuffed animal doll and tell them here this one should be easy enough for the family to love and care for and you will never have to kill it. Maybe they will get the hint. I think people like that should have to registar so they are kept from purchasing any more animals. UGH makes me sick...I know I have my hands full with animals and though it is frustrating, I would never kill them or mistreat them.

These are the kind of people who should be arrested for even walking into a pet store. Unfortunately they havent actually broke any laws. Pray they don't decide to get any more pets.

They certainly wouldn't put their daughter to sleep for wetting the bed, so how is right the other way round? These people should be reported!

Herein lies the problem, both of these behaviours make these animal nearly impossible to place in a new home.
What would have been abuse would have been to have dumped these animals out along a country road.
Hopefully these folks just won't get anymore pets.

Report them! You can do this anonymously...I had a "friend" who kept getting dogs, nice dogs, then finding some little thing wrong with them and putting them to sleep...I did not report her...I feel very guilty now that I didn't.
