why must we be taught it, if it is true? if there is a great being who created everyone and will punish you if you dont believe. why did he create us without any knowledge of his existance...?

doing this only causes more people to suffer. his choice lead us to our consequences?

god relies on man, to learn about him from man, who he knows is sinful and fallible.

It's a man-made concept that requires constant psychological reinforcement.

Ahhhh but He did! He gave us a conscious! He shows us through creation that HE DOES EXIST! The world just does not want to accept God- they want to live lives for themselves and not have someone to submit to. It is PRIDE that is like a wide spread disease in this world.....Romans 1:20 -- this is the verse you must read in order to know the answer to this question. And He gives us His word to further teach us WHO He is, and how we ought to live. And how we all need His forgiveness. To keep us grounded in HIS truth, so we do not slip away into sin-
Even then, people will still refuse to believe, because men have brainwashed them into thinking of other alternatives to how the world was made, and who is in charge....and God warns us of this! God tells us many will ignore His word, and many will run off and follow after myths, and people that will tell them what they want to hear instead of listening to the truth.
No one has an excuse come judgment day- NO one. That is why His word is being preached throughout the world- THAT IS WHY YOU HEAR IT ALL THE TIME! (well on here especiallay lol)
God is working through His people- those who love Him, and honor Him, and want others to know about Him before it is too late- Everyone has a conscious to know there IS a God. And when the gospel is heard--- they have the choice to refuse it or accept it. As God says He gives GRACE to the humble but is opposed to the proud- James 4:6

Excellent question. I think in a sense we do, which is why religion is so common all over the world and in every culture. I think there is something in the way the human mind works, that sense of 'wonder' at the world, that inspires religious belief, whether it's the god(s) of the sky, or mountain, or volcano, etc. I think deep down it's a way for we small, relatively weak beings to feel we have a sense of power over the big, unpredictable, and sometimes cruel world. After all, we create the gods that control the natural forces of the world, and we can influence them through prayer, offerings, and sacrifices. I think that need to feel a sense of control and understanding of how things work is what we are born with. Gods are our response.

We don't have this knowledge beacuse we begin to understand the world as we develop our senses. Our concept of God is a product of our society and it is usually imposed into us.

An addition to this, consider the fact that most cultures in the world believe a divine force (or many) as a method to explain everything that we cannot easily understand. Therefore, its seems to be a human need to explain the unknown and therefore conceive the concept of a higher being in this case God.

If god was here with us, it would ruin the purpose for us even coming to this earth. this life is a test to see if we will do what's right without him constantly there. it's the same as when we left our house for the first time at 18. our parents taught us how we should live our lives growing up, now it's time to actually live our life with out them and try to apply those things we learned from our parents.

Well obviously we aren't born with any knowledge. We have to be taught. But more importantly, we have to hear about God and make the conscious decision to believe He exists. Otherwise it's forced on us.

We are all atheists at birth. I have remained one since birth despite repeated attempts at brainwashing from 2 of the 3 Abrhamic faiths.

babies have to be taught everything short of breathing, eating, and pooping. it takes them a while to pick up breathing from the mouth.

i guess it could be argued "they have the prophets" and those who don't are saved by innocence or some other kind of thing like that(if they looked for God the best they could)

Some people would argue that we are born with that knowledge and suppress it. I think it would be handy if God just talked to us. I don't expect my friends to know what I'm thinking; I pick up the phone and call.

Perhaps you should try reading Aquinas. Persons are fully able to come to the knowledge of God without revelation. It IS put within us.
