* Only United States citizens can obtain a U.S. passport.

I left a country that I thought was "bad" and "poor" to come to the USA. Guess what: It's the USA that's "poor" and "bad". I should have stayed in my home country, it's so beautiful, and while not everyone can afford a 50 thousand inch plasma TV, everyone helps each other, everyone is doing well, and there is much love :D
I don't know Japan too well, so I don't know your situation. Then again, Japan/China/USA are not your only choices :-)
Do a google search for something like "which country should i live in ". I know its silly, but a quiz like that might help you find the solution :P
You might be able to get dual citizenship. Did you think of that? That would enable to to decide which country to live in and still stay here.
Awesome uh?!
Good luck with whatever you choose!
EDIT: SORRY, I think we all read your information wrong. You live in CANADA, and are considering moving to the USA, right? In that case, no, oh god, stay in Canada, and help *me* move to Canada hahahaha!!
I can't believe you want to leave Canada xD
If you have lots of money to spare, see if you can get dual citizen ship. Otherwise, don't. Fees to apply to become a US resident + citizen 5 yrs later, are very expensive :P

You should become a citizen. In addition to the other pros (voting, etc.), you can also not be deported if you are a citizen. Permanent residents can be deported for committing certain crimes, including drug possession.
The only con I can think of is it might cause problems in China if you become an American citizen.

I do not see any reason why you should not be able to since you have had a green card for so long. Just wait until you hit the right age and go for it!!!
