For the women: No makeup, jewelry and they must not cut their hair (most will trim it but that is all.) The skirts must go past the knees. They don't wear superficial things like nail polish either. The men must keep their hair short. It shouldn't touch their collar. Plus they separate the youth in the church and they also follow the traditional beliefs like no tattoos and such.
In a whole, they don't watch T.V. or movies. If they do then nothing higher then a PG rating. Plus they generally only listen to christian talk radio. Some one explained it to me like wading through a dumpster. Yes you might find one or two good things, but you have to dig through all the trash to find it.
I went to a Pentecostal Church for a year and a half. I didn't actually follow the strict codes, but my neighbors did (I went with them.) Even though it seems strange they by far have the best sermons I have ever heard. They are extremely passionate about their beliefs and every sermon is moving (and that is coming from a non believer.) They go to Church twice on Sunday and Sunday night is the time to go if you ever want to see first hand. Be prepared for the talking in tongues and running around the pews though. The idea that women can only wear dresses and skirts, and not pants, is based upon a misapplication of an Old Testament law:
Deuteronomy 22:5 (NIV)
A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.
Applying this OT law to today's Christian women to limit them to dresses and skirts is so wrong on many levels:
1) The Book of Galatians teaches us that Christians are no longer bound to follow all the OT law. From Galatians 2:16 and 21:
So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. ... do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!
2) Even if you wanted to apply the OT law to today's Christians, women could still wear women's pants; they just couldn't wear men's pants.
3) In the ancient Middle East when the OT was written, women wore pants, not men! Both men and women wore robes.
4) I've heard that the reasoning behind the OT law about proper gender dressing had to do with the military--specifically, so that men wouldn't dodge their military duty (by dressing as women), and conversely, that women wouldn't join the military. (Even so, women such as Rahab, Deborah, Jael, and the woman who killed Abimelech showed valiant behavior in times of war.)
Therefore, to apply the OT law to keep today's Christian women from wearing pants is a huge mistake, and much ado about nothing. To judge someone's heart by outward appearance is unChristian, anyway. From 1 Samuel 16:7:
"Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
It's also wrong to judge someone's faith or standing in God by whether or not they speak in tongues. Read 1 Corinthians 12, 13, and 14. Among other things, it says the Holy Spirit distributes his gifts as he will, and not everyone's gift is the same. Also, several people in the Gospels and/or Acts were saved without speaking in tongues.

Jesus told the Pharisees, "you cause the Word of God to be made of no effect through your traditions"...every religion has man made traditions that's all it is...trust me your salvation has nothing to do with your clothes....all the bible requires is to dress in moderation....
The Pentecostal movement believes the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today's believer...most I know stress the importance of holy living and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with other tongues....
There is error everywhere that's why you must search out the truth for yourself and not just take what somebody has said...there are conditions to being saved and it 's not what you wear...it's believing on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and if you truly have been saved your life will transform sometimes fast and then again slow....do not allow anyone to lay any burdens on you in regards to eating or drinking or wearing clothes.....some people just express their worship differently...has nothing to do with salvation...

The church i flow to is pentecostal. extremely frankly we comprehend this is what's interior a man or woman who counts. not the outdoors visual charm. i've got not got faith in all that legalistic junk. Okay i can completely explain why.. i was apostolic.. one of the more extremes pentecostal groups.. they enforce skirts because it means that you can not be confused as men. you should be feminine .. or else its an abomination to god.. you cant cut you hair.. it is " Your Glory" you bond to the angels.. most churches teach quarter selves on your shirts .. if not down to your wrist. there extremes are not only usually offensive. they mainly say that if you do cirtan things it means you are conceited and Vain.. no make up.. no Jewelry .... they micro manage there congregations. make sure that they have the underhand on everything that happens.. and there physical appearence is the first step... Then you go into what they can and can not read.. no television.. only specified Music. cant do things that normal people can do.. there ya go.. ! welcome to evangelism and Penticostals Hipocrites to the core.. But atleast they can say they got control..

They have a strict dress code because they are extremely uneducated about the Bible. The Bible does not teach of these things. If you wanted to follow the example of Christians in the Bible you would have to dress EXACTLY like they did in the 1st Century and NO ONE DOES THAT TODAY.
