Salvation is not just a one-time deal and mental assent to Biblical truth and the Gospel message!
Salvation for a Christian involves the past, present, and future!
We are saved in the past, in the sense that we are saved from the Penalty of sin in what is called “Justification”.
We are currently being saved in the present, in the sense that we are being saved from the Power of sin in what is called “Sanctification”.
We will yet be saved in the future, in the sense that we will be saved from the Presence of sin in what is called “Glorification”.
The initial Justification of a sinner is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ. It is a matter of the mind and heart. AND, it is a completely free, unmerited gift from God!
Upon receiving this FREE gift, a Christian is given the Holy Spirit to live and dwell within them.
Then, during the process of Sanctification, the Holy Spirit within convicts this believer of sin that remains, leading to repentance.

Furthermore, the Holy Spirit “cleanses” us of all unrighteousness, as it is written in 1 John 1:9. No only this, we DO love and do such good works and obey God’s Word via the power of the Holy Spirit which works within us to do His will, all for His glory!
So, you see…God is SPIRIT…and these are SPIRITUAL truths. The carnal mind would seek to justify sins and state that have “faith”, yet no works! Thus, they go on sinning, deceived that such “faith” will save them! Such a state of mind is cursed in the Bible and shows that such a person does NOT have a true faith and is actually bound for hell.
The GREATEST love and works seen in the history of the church (including all revivals) has ALWAYS been by people who proclaimed that salvation is by grace alone!
Sure, it is a mystery…but only because of the spiritual workings of the Holy Spirit!

Does this make sense to those who did not know this, yet asked in response to my other questions...?

Well put, brother. Paul answered this very thing:
Rom 6:1 What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 Let it not be! We who died to sin, how shall we still live in it?
Rom 6:3 Or are you ignorant that all who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been joined together in the likeness of His death, so also shall we be in the resurrection,
Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be nullified, so that we no longer serve sin.
As saved believers, we do sin, but God changes our desires through the sanctification process. We desire to serve and please our flesh less and less, and serve and please God more and more.

Guys, guys, it's not hard to understand. The person asking the question made it very easy. Yes, there are those Christians who claim to be saved and continue on living their lives, but there are also the ones who know better, they know that once they have accepted this gift that their lives change forever. If you are sincere about having Christ live in your heart then you will not want to live a sinful life. Don't you get upset when your Father is disappointed in you? If you really love Him you will do your best to please Him.
Admit your sins and give your life to Christ!!
God Bless You!!

Romans 6: 1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? 2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

You Go! Yachado! I couldn't have said it any better.
Peace Be still my friend... God loves ya, and so do I...
yes, remember God says to be obediant too... remember Gods Moral law, 10 commandments. Remember Jesus says if you love me, Keep My Commandments. Do not let them be Burdensome.
The Fulfillment of the Law
17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Thank you!
I try and try to get through to the legalists, but James holds them to the idea that you have to work, not the Spirit of God. I have found that waiting upon the Lord is what a Christian ought to do in order to know His will. Legalists do not know that. They think that it's a waste of time to wait upon God.
So they build upon the foundation of Jesus Christ with wood, hay, and straw.

You can get all caught up in the theology of it but if you live a good life and treat people with dignity and yourself with dignity, and talk to God and just TRY, well try hard to avoid sin, you should be fine.
Its not okay to be like I believe in Jesus, now I can go steal, and kill and have sex and screw ppl over and its fine cause Jesus will save me. That is NOT how it works. If you really believe and have faith, you would know that your faith would help you to avoid sin. Not get you out of jail free.
One aspect of forgiveness for sin is that the sinner has to REPENT, if they dont, they are not really sorry, and therefore cannot recieve absolution and be free of mortal sin.

Uh, in my experience with Christians, yeah, it does.
It's way cool to be Christian and not have to actually DO anything about it. Just say, "I believe. It's all ok." That was the predominant religious perspective in my high school. And the people who thought that were also the ones doing drugs, sleeping around and generally ruining their lives.
However, I will agree that people grow out of that stage pretty quickly. Growing up and all. Then they start to realize that what you do determines who you are, regardless of your claimed religion.

My friend listen to what I am saying and check every word that I say against even your own Bible. First off I noticed loads of explanations that are no where in scripture, and therefore not needed for this Christian life (2 Peter 1:3) because those who speak according to the Word of God 1st "do not go beyond what is written (1 Corinthioans 4:6-7), and 2nd we do not have to add to the scritures according to Proverbs 30:5-6. Those whom the Lord sends simply speak His Words (John 3:34, Jeremiah 23:22).
I do believe there is good in you and that is why I am writting you today. I have nothing to gain from you by correcting you outside of helping you. Please check the verses I'm sending before you speak against them. When we speak against the Word of God, we fall away from the faith which we are trying to explain (1 Timothy 6:20-21).
Yes we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:1-10), but what is faith according to the Word of God and not worldly wisdom? Faith is what your Bible says it is in Hebrews 11:1 and nothing else. It is our hope combined with the evidence, explained in short, and the evidence is already written down in the Word of God. Abraham put his faith in God in the same way we are to put or faith in Jesus. Read James 2:20-23. Abrahams blessing comes upon us through faith in Jesus and only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham (Galatians 3:1-29). God told Abraham to go and offer his son on the alter, but Jesus has given us a different set of instructions. Jesus commanded us to love one another (John 13:34-35). Faith in Jesus will produce love according to the Word of the Lord written in Galatians 5:6. Read John 15:1-17 and make it fit into what you have said or even what you hear on TV or in church.
We will only abide in Jesus by obeying what He commanded us to do according to the Word of the Lord written in John 15:10. His command is to love one another (John 15:12, 17). If we abide in Him and he in us His seed in us will automaticlly stop us from sinning according to the Word of the Lord written in 1 John 3:9. In fact read all of 1 John. This is the process that needs to be explained without worldly wisdom and figering. Not everyone who explains the Word of God abides in Him and therefore they have to use worldy wisdom which is foolishness to God according to 1 Corinthians 3:19 to explain faith in Jesus. Real faith will always make us do something (James 2:14-26).
Now my friend, change your mind also about being saved with these verses; 1 Corinthians 15:1-2, Romans 8:23, Jude 1:5. When you speak of being saved, do it without violating these verses so that you will continue to be able to see these verses. Also read Colossians 1:21-23. We have to continue in our faith after we come to the Lord in order to remain in the condition we were in just after we came. Faith comes through hearing the Word (Romans 10:17). This is how we continue in His kindness (Romans 11:22). Also you must read John 14:15-23 in order to see when the Holy Spirit will live in us and not just with us. The term "having believe" in Ephesians 1:13 has been taken way out of context by false teachers in the US for years.
That's enough for now Brother. May the Lord bless you in Jesus name Amen.

Please look the verses up and decide if you are going to follow Jesus through the Word of God or follow a denomination. I have spoken to you in accordance with the Word of the Lord (2 Corinthians 4:13). You don't need me, but you do need to know what is written so that you do not speak against it.
