No. You get a rifle, a uniform and a chance to serve your country.

You still owe your previous bills.

g-day!

There is a program out there for enlistment I think that it is called the Army Loan Repayment Program. I am not sure how it works, but I have seen it on some enlistment contracts, just a question, for you, do you have a degree? If you do I would consider coming in as an officer. First of all, that is where the money is, and secondly, it seems to be more stable than enlisted. Maybe stable is not the right word, it just seems that officers know more in advance then an enlisted person, as far as where they are going, and how long they are going to be there. There are several MOS's that are in need of officers, I am thinking about going green to gold myself.

as long as your loans are accepted by the army and you get the financial paperwork to your recruiter before you enlist. Not all loans are applicable to the SLRP student loan repayment program. look at how much you owe vs. how much of a cash bonus you might get. you might be better off with the cash bonus. make sure you call the loan office to let them know what is going on with your payments and mail them a copy of your contract with the loan repayment info. most companies will cut you some slack.

yes, there are enlistment options where the Army can help you pay off your loans. I dont know if you are trying to go enlisted or officer, but either way, you shouldnt come in as a private seeing as how you have a college education. Talk to your local recruiter and he/she can give you the details on how to get your loans paid off for enlisting.
