NO THEY ARE NOT RESPECTABLE!
First clue: They advertise "specials", and they have dozens of breeds!
They have been in under investigation MORE than just a few times and have had numerous complaints and lawsuits filed against them!

No RESPONSIBLE breeder sells to a pet shop! These people buy their puppies from "puppy brokers"....not bred for the standard, much less for health!
Run far away!

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- Dozens of dog owners are banding together to take action against a South Florida pet dealer.

Unhappy consumers have joined together to file suit against Puppy Palace and its owner, Judy Norford. They claim that the puppies were misrepresented as having come from local breeders rather than puppy mills. The suit also claims that the puppies were sickly, and had not received proper vaccinations by veterinarians. The suit is filed under Florida's "Puppy Lemon Law."

The 30 plaintiffs in two lawsuits, one in Broward County, one in Palm Beach County, say that Norford sold sick puppies at her store at 5909 Hollywood Blvd. and a second store at 3557 Boynton Beach Blvd. in Boynton Beach.

The complaint says Norford sold puppies suffering from problems including: kennel cough, parvovirus, heart defects, hip dysplasia, distemper, pneumonia, coccidia, neurological disorders, missing hip sockets, mange, overbite, auto immune disorders, elbow dysplasisa, enamel hypoplasia, impacted canine tooth, lungworm, medial luxating patellas, pasteurella multocida, bacillus, septcimia, upper respiratory infection, hookworms, seizures, giardia, conjunctivitis and hypoglycemia.

The place is a puppy broker, aka puppy mill. Places like this use puppy mills because no responsible, respectable breeder would ever sell their puppies to a broker. They may tell you they do not deal with puppy mills, but they do. Do some research on puppy mills...put puppy mills into a search engine and look at the pictures that come up with it. Ask your self if you can live with the knowledge you put money into an industry that abuses and tortures dogs.

Instead, decide what breed you want, they look at shelters, rescues, if your not into that, look for kennel clubs for the breed. Find a breeder that actually cares about the dogs they breed. Look for AKC registry, health testing (a must, unless you don't mind a dog with lifetime chronic pain and thousand's of dollars in vet bills), make sure the breeder places an emphasis on temperment, socialization, cleanliness. Ask to see the parents, were all the dogs lives, where the puppies where born and raised.

Please, please, please do not get from a broker or puppy mill.

I would stick with trying to find a local breeder for the breed you're interested in. It's always risky to purchase a puppy, without being able to see the pup first, and/or see the parents of the pup. Cannot rely on pictures, as there's no proof it's of the pup in question.

You want to make sure the pup is 100% healthy, and truly purebred (which is why you want to see the parents, other than just seeing their temperament).

Absolutely NOT!! They've had several lawsuits filed against them for selling sick dogs obtained from backyard breeders and puppy mills! Never ever buy a dog from a pet store! Either adopt, rescue, or purchase from a reputable breeder.

No, what they are telling are lies. Puppies from stores aren't from local breeders or from good breeders. They get them from puppy mills, every store get's them from puppy mills. There is no way that a breeder would sell puppies to the stores, except for horrible breeders. You are better of either buying from a breeder or going to a shelter.

I won't get the puppy from there. It reminds me of the one Humane Society of U.S. shut down at Florida a while ago. Based on what I see from that site, it looks like another puppy mill store. I think they get the puppies from either puppy mill "breeders" or auction or byb. Better breeders of the world won't sell their puppies to stores. Don't you think that better breeders have their own waiting list already? Why do they need to sell to pet stores?

They are brokers. They are worse than bybs as they don't even breed the dogs themselves, nor do they care where the pups come from. They pay breeders a little to get the pups, then mark up the price and tell you what you want to hear about the parents that they've never met.

Run...and run fast! You might as well buy from a petstore if you choose to give these crooks your $$.

Puppy Mill to the max.

They talk about visiting their breeders who they buy dogs from all over the country (puppy mill breeders).

Not respectable at all.

Adopt, Adopt, Adopt!!!

Or find yourself a breeder you can actually talk to face to face, and see the puppies and parents of the puppies yourself. Buying a dog online without even seeing it's personality or temperament or anything? *shudder*

Haha no -- they get them from puppy mills or commercial kennels. Either way, the puppies are still low quality and I would advise you to look elsewhere. No reputable breeder would produce mixed litters.
