It is normal. That's why you must keep studying it, reading and looking for opportunities to speak it.

Absolutely normal ... even after 11 years of Italian, I still forget words and they are always the same words! It is also normal to forget words in your mother tongue as your second language gains ground on your first ... and because most languages have many words that have no one-to-one correspondence (or even any correspondence) with English words, you will also find yourself learning words that you don't know in English.

Of course! Its best if you can immerse yourself in the language - i.e. take an extended trip to the country where the language is their native tongue. Obviously, that may not be possible, in that case, try to meet people who speak the language and spend some time, or find a pen pal. Also, try when just hanging out or whatever to repeat (in your head, not out loud) everything you say in the language you are trying to learn - or at least everything you can. Ditto with objects you see, etc. The point being to try to incorporate your new language into your every day life as much as possible. You'll learn it faster, better, and retain it longer if you're actually USING it! Good luck!

Of course it is normal. I am trying to learn Korean on my own. I would repeat the word and like 10 minutes later, I would forget the word. Just practice it speaking with other people.

Fairly normal...in my belief it is not good to only memorize the words, but remember in what way to use them. To speak a language you can't just say the words because you can relate them to english in your head. You must be able to "think" in that language. It should come to you as easlily as speaking english. Also practice is probably the best way to accomplish learning the language. Hope this helps.

Second-language teachers know that a new lexical item must be produced (that is, used, not simply encountered) by the student on fifteen different occasions for it to stick reliably. I do not believe those different occasions of use should occur on the same day. You estimate how long the complete process should take... !

Quite normal. Usually your vocabulary is the first thing to go after not speaking the language for a while.
