Hmmm. Just as the tree in the forest thing this is a question only those who were there can answer. Why? Because it is in itself a leap of faith. If you need to believe then you will. If you do not need to believe then don't. There are enough variants of the same religions out there that one person in so many of us can find the best thing for themselves. You may or may not have been born into catholicism and as you get older the stories do not sit right with you. You may feel that Man and Woman are equal and in thinking so may come to believe that God must be both Male and Female or that there are both a God and Goddess? Or maybe you think that is a bunch of hoey!!!!
You cannot fault a person for HOW they believe or WHAT they believe just because it does not ring true to you.
You believe in what make YOU feel safe here on Earth and leave everyone else's beliefs alone

The pass became the honor of Christ. observe the injuries from the scourging are conspicuously lacking from the define and those could have been plenty worse than 2 holes in the wrists, 2 holes above the ft and a hollow in the area. The Roman scourging might have ripped many of the flesh off of his physique and it fairly isn't any longer provided in the text cloth as element of the resurrected physique. the injuries from the crucifixion are so as that we continually undergo in innovations what Christ has performed for us. additionally, to declare that Christ got here off the pass alive is lunacy. The scourging ripped up his flesh and likely broke some ribs. The blood loss from that on my own may be debilitating. the easily execution became performed by knowledgeable killers who knew whilst somebody became ineffective and made specific of it earlier the enable somebody off the pass in the different case they may be the subsequent ones carried out. The spear for the duration of the heart form of seals the deal even with the undeniable fact that. there is not any actual way somebody can proceed to exist that when which in 3 days roll away a huge stone and sneak previous a team of guards and then motivate all people to prefer to stick to him. He might elicit extra pity than worship however the disciples went from being frightened of being linked with Christ to 10 out of the remainder 11 being horrifically carried out after he reappeared.

NOT a zombie- our Lord and Savior rose from the dead, with holes in his side , hands and feet, to show that He had really died- it never ceases to amaze me that instead of just not believing, you have to mock. However, Jesus did say, even when you see the holes in my hands and feet, some will not believe.

Once heard that the only man made thing you will find in heaven would be the scars we placed on Him...

Also....His scars are there, not out of shame, but as testimoney to the amount of love He has, and that He conquered death.

Often wonder, how many would be able to do what Thomas did, and still say "nope...not for real...no man can come back."

I don't think it's gory like that....just the places where the scars actually are...just like anyone who's suffered a terrible wound...the flesh doesn't always scar over and you end up with an indentation....I believe there must be some kind of sign of what the Lord has done....we are so full of unbelief

Yay! It's the Guinness glass again!
Re: the question...I've always wondered that myself. Personally, rotting bodies are gross and there's no way my body wouldn't be perfect if I could raise myself from the dead. I would choose to look like an Anne Rice vampire-not some nasty lookin' zombie. Eeeew!

I can only say the the wounds would have remained to represent the sacrifice made. Like re-incarnation to wounds on the soul remain that is why you come back. Or I could be way off base and it is just another loop hole in the whole organized religeon thing.

Well he is human isnt he? He wouldnt heal in the grave. Bodies dont do that. The holes stayed because he IS human.
It wasnt his choice to be ressurected was it?
If they had gone once he ressurected i would assume he was some kind of vampire.
