And again, if I choose not to believe what you believe, would that affect you or your life? To me it's clear that you're, as all atheists, searching for God just as we do.

Not at all, if it were true. It would not matter anyway, because there is nothing we can to about it. funny you put it that way. part of the soil, You know God formed man from the dust of the earth, and the Bible teaches that our bodies will return to that dust? Now for the truth, It is appointed for man to die once, and then the judgment, does that terrify you? It should when you reject the judge, but have no ability to reject the judgment.

Death doesn't terrify me, nor this shell of a body that I won't be using anymore, forming part of the soil Why would that be a problem? Anyway I'm going to be cremated and have my ashes dumped, why take up more land just so someone can say my mother is buried there.? What a waste of land.

Since I don't believe that it's not terrifying.... But even if I did, I don't see how it would be terrifying...not sure what you're looking for. It's not a matter of being terrified, it's a matter of belief.

To me its a beautiful thing...its like the ultimate in recycling! Personally I'm going to be cremated and turned into a living reef. They form your ashes into a cube and you rest on a reef providing homes for fish and such. Sounds MUCH cooler than heaven!

It's only terrifying to me because I can't stand the thought of my body being eaten by worms. I demand a cremation.

Esmerald!
Not for me!
I think that people should be buried directly in the soil.
This way our molecules, atoms, etc., would fertilise the plants!
Most important is that my spirit will not be dead! It will go to the Father.
Love and peace!

your soul does not form with the soil, sorry to say. this is the way that I see it- God's truth in scripture is absolutely correct, and if you really stop to think about it ,amazing, that God would want us to continue in our relationship with Him, after we die here. If we just died and returned to soil, it would be sad but not terrifying. What is terrifying is that people actually believe that is what happens at death- we are eternal beings, it just depends where we will spend eternity.

Not me. I'm getting cremated after my organs are donated. And I do believe in the possibility of reincarnation.
Otherwise, nope doesn't bother me one bit (even if I'm wrong about reincarnation).
I'm not going to waste this life worrying about what happens after wards (especially since there is nothing I can do about it).

The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out,
the worms play pinochle on your snout, your stomach turns a slimey green
and puss comes out like whipping cream,
and me without a spoon.
