Can you tell me how long a chapter 11 or 13 last on your record. I was reading the paper and it says after 2 years you could reinlist the military. One of my friends wants to apply in the homeland security.

Just because you have the chapter 11 on your record does not mean you can't join the Army. Just talk with them honestly about the reasons it happened and what you're going to do to make sure it never happens again! (Don't buy crap on credit!!! Use the used classified ads or ebay!)

I hope for the welfare of our country you, or "your friend" never get hired by any government agency. Basic wasn't that hard, and the only people who couldn't make it were real scumbags that I wouldn't want watching my back anyway.
