I think Catholics are one of the only large Christian sects that hasn't lost its sanity. I don't agree with everything they decree, but then again, does anyone (who thinks) agree completely with ANY organization?

it doesn't matter which religion you are there are always other people who because they don't do it your way aren't doing it right.
It's that simple.
When the Protestants first broke off from the catholics (the FIRST and at one time ONLY christian church) there were many good reasons to have done so. Some related to dogma others just opinion. What I find interesting is that the splinter just keeps splintering and splintering separating to fine hairs of disagreement making it easy for catholics to remain the single largest (whether protestants like it or not) christian organization making jealousy and vanity the biggest cause of the discontent regarding catholics because we can't beat them and we won't join them.

I'm not against Catholics. I was raised one myself. Now, the Roman Catholic Church is an institution, one that has done things unimaginable. If you want to know just do a little research.
Personally, I feel the Bishops and others in administration of church affairs have shamefully betrayed their congregation by covering up, and moving around priest who are Pedophilic.
What I wonder is this: In about 300 C.E. (ad) when the church decided it could gain more wealth by not having priest with families and thus the priest will marry Jesus law--came down, why, did they not think to have it a requirement of priesthood--castration? This would be a great way to tests’ the true priests right up front. If they truly give themselves in marriage to Jesus then thy surly don't need those extra parts, now do they? Think of the millions and millions of dollars the church would have saved in recent times.
I have more to say but will end my ranting, now...

There is nothing wrong with Catholicism. And I believe that it is the one faith with all of the truth. And I also believe that Taoism clearly highlights so many of the main points of the faith.
My only problem is that I do not feel that the Church could ever accept me, as I am a transgendered individual. But I still support it and defend it when I can.
I know that it is true, and that none other comes as close. I just regret that I can never be a part of the church again.

The Catholic denomination is part of Christianity, however, they do things that are not biblical. These things include praying to Mary, praying to the Saints, Idol worship in the form of the statues of Mary, the Saints and even Jesus. God said NOT to make any graven images. It is also to ritualistic in its way and depends more on tradition rather than on God and his word. Another thing God tells us NOT to do. The Catholic belief is that they receive forgiveness through the priest, not so, you receive forgiveness through Christ Jesus alone, NO MAN can grant that to you. That is one of the reasons that the Catholic Church has so many weekend Christians, they do as they want all week and come for "word of mouth forgiveness" on the weekend. They aren't really sorry, but they think they are forgiven by a Priest by saying 10 hail Marys. I am not saying that this same behavior of weekend Christians doesn't happen in any other denomination, because it does, but the Catholic Church knowingly or maybe unknowingly endorses it by the idea that you just need to come in and confess to the Priest and due penance. There are other denominations that do this as well, but you asked about the Catholic denomination, so I am making reference to them. I am a former Catholic, so I have been there and done it. Found my relationship with Christ Jesus and I now know it is wrong, I go directly to Christ himself. Also, I believe to think the Pope is the Vicar of Christ is wron! NOBODY is, Christ is alive and well and doesn't need a vicar, he talks to his sheep and they hear his voice.
Having said that, I am not saying that all Catholic will not meet God in Heaven, because I am sure there are many that love the Lord Jesus and follow him, but many also have no idea about having a relationship with Christ as their relationship seems to be with the Priest instead, or Mary as they are uneducated about the importance of Jesus in regards to salvation.

I'm with those who oppose all religion. As far as Catholics in particular? Spanish Inquisition, Crusades, Papal infallibility, break from the Orthodox, rampant but secret pedophilia and homosexuality in the clergy (homosexuality isn't a problem BTW. It's the denial, repression, hypocrisy, shame and guilt.), dogma that results in population growth and obstructs population reduction. Those are the main problems as I see it.

The Catholic Religion has never really been about "Christianity" with the Exception of their First "Leader / Papa". It is about "Control" of People through it's "Organization". Please do Ur self a favor and read a Non Religious History book that covers in Detail the "Catholic Empire" from "Inception" to "Today". It will "Open Ur Eyes" to see all the Evil from Rape, Harlotry, Murder etc. that is the "Foundation" for what is here Today!!! John

I don't think we are against Catholics only the mindless acceptance of the false teachings of the Catholic church. To be a Catholic in most countries is to worship idols and treat spiritual things as magic. Like I am in one now and the taxi drivers all have pictures of mary and prayer beads hanging off the mirror. What is this? Good luck charms? Christianity is not about good luck charms.
One of the ten commandments is make no image and worship it. Well. .... what they are doing is against the word of God and it is truly idol worship. Does the Church speak out against it? no. Then it is this false Christianity that people are against.
Catholic countries are poor and you have to lock everything twice. Bars on doors and windows. Why? Peoples lives are not changed by their religion. They treat it all like magic.
Do you have the answer?

Christians label Catholicism as "the great whore" from the book of revelations
The remaining religious hate all Christians because Fundies bash them all the time.
And the atheists just bash all religions.

Their churches teach anti-Catholic propaganda and they are too ignorant or lazy to actually learn about the faith on their own. Not only is it part of the Christian faith, it is the largest sect of Christianity and the one that I respect most because they do not seem intent on slandering other faiths on here.
For the record, they do not worship Mary or the saints and they do not believe the Pope is Jesus- this is the kind of ignorance that could be eliminated if they read a book on Catholicism.

I know and love some Roman Catholics. I am against what the Roman Catholic Church teaches. They are not too biblical. They ignore the most obvious things scripturally. I won't tell them to you, I think you've already seen them and I didn't want this post to be about the laundry list of problems. I want this post to be about who I am really against.
It's not the people who happen to be Roman Catholic, it's the organization itself. They are teaching false doctrine, and excusing it with many years of excuses. They have much power and authority over much of the world, and are using it to excuse their error, even to the point of causing many to distrust God Himself.
