Don't you understand there was a "fall" and sin entered the world? What do you expect?

Do you think God cares more about the superficial things in people's lives than helping the poor and needy? No. Not from what I have read in the Scripture. God said He blesses those who help the poor and needy in different places of the Bible. Which Church does a better job and is more Christian-like? The Church that gives the money given in collection to send to the poorer countries for food, support and gives clothes and other necessities? Or the church that spends most, if not all the money it gets in collection to maintain the building it worships in? Which Church would God be pleased with? The one that gives to others who need it or the one that spends it all on the building?
It talks about in the book of Acts that from time to time there were those who sold their properties and such and distributed the money to the apostles to give to anyone as he had need. It also talks about in the book of Acts that everyone was one in mind and heart and didn't claim anything as his own but shared what they had so that there were no needy people.
God put us humans to take care of His earth, not to destroy it. And also not to be greedy and selfish. If someone has it within themselves to help someone else out but refuses to do so, where is the love, where is showing God's love and glory?
Also, which is better and more important? To be healed or to be forgiven? To be healed physically is nothing if you're still separated from God. God wants each and every person to be with Him when they leave this earth but it's up to people what they decide. It is up to those of us who are Christians to help someone's physical needs (like it says in James 2:15-16), and it is important to do so, but it is way more important to help someone's spiritual needs as it is the spirit that lives forever (whether in Heaven or Hell) and the body is only temporary.
People may not be able to change the whole world and make the whole world a better place, but if each person does his/her part, starts with one person at a time, things would get better. That is our responsibility and duty-to take care of each other's physical and spiritual needs.

God cares about all aspects of the lives of His people. If one is not a believer, they cannot pray to a God they do not believe in. God's love is discriminating, He doesn't love all people in the same way or with the same intensity. He does not hear the prayers of one who does not believe He exists, although He may still give blessings to an unbeliever, by His grace and mercy. All people are responsible, none is without sin, there is no one who is "innocent" in the eyes of God, all have sinned, all fall short.

This is why I'm an agnostic. With so many religions out there claiming to be the "right" one, there is no way a person can pick the "right one". BUT, if you can go out into a field and just sit and see all the beauty around you and not believe there is something bigger than you, then you're a damn fool...we all are responsible for our own fate...no one else....That's why we were given the ability to think and reason...there's definitely a bigger picture...do you see just how big the universe is?...there are more stars(just stars) out there than there are grains of sand on this earth...so, do u really think we're the only ones?

Please do not confuse the issue. It is not God who ignores the children you speak of, but we ourselves. Many Church's do try to feed as many children around the world as they can, we for exp. are quite small less than 30 adults but we support a soup kitchen for orphans in Mexico. Many churches do this. God is not interested in mega churches, or synagogues, or temples or anything like that. He made the Heavens and the earth, All is his. It is up to us to make the difference in these people lives. Many of us do, but many and I dare say many right here on YQ/A would rather take their hard earned money and invest it in the market, a new boat, a vacation home, a new car.
What about you? what have YOU done to help this suffering? Many on this forum criticize church member for giving 10% of their income back to God. That is why we give, to help others.

*sigh....He does love children. He says it is better that you tie a boulder around your neck and throw yourself into the sea than to harm a child. And those who never knew the Lord will have opportunity to receive salvation.
Keep in mind though...God is not in the business of imposing HIs Will on anyone. He 'intervened' once before at the flood, and once at Sodom and that was it. The suffering that goes on in the world is the result of man's inhumanity to man.
You want God to intervene to keep the mother and child from being hit head on by the drunk driver but you dont want Him or anyone else telling you to stop getting drunk. Pick as side beloved...you cant have it both ways.

God cares about everything in our lives. We live in a fallen world through sin. God's remedy for all is forgiveness of our sin through our Savior and the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Once we make sure our relationship with Him we see things in this life as they really are. Only then can we truly help others. Jesus Christ . . . the Way . . . the Truth . . . the Life.

It's up to us to do God's work on earth. Don't blame God for poverty, blame the people in our society/culture who fail to do anything about it.
When was the last time you worked at a food pantry, or served a meal to the homeless?
The world can't change for the better until we all work together as a community.

You got it all wrong, He promised to be us till the end of time to provide for all of us. Sure bad things happen to people all the time, and prayers may seem to have fallen on deaf ears, but God does answer prayers, maybe NOT in the way we want them answered, but He does answer them.

God cares about the sparrow. I know he cares about superficial things. God is not overloaded with prayer requests.

I was a starving person in the world. He answered by prayers.
Maybe you are referring to other starving people. Only the one's who are still starving? Why are you so pessimistic?
