I'm a big fan of The Sleep Number bed by Select Comfort. The memory foam beds are nice, at first, but they will not keep springing back - they will eventually leave "sleep spots" in them. Take a look at The Sleep Number beds - they're great!

I see a lot of people have suggested the sleep number bed. Save yourself a couple of hundred bucks and get the select comfort with out the sleep number feature. The number thing is just an option to get you to spend extra money.
I would also look at a baffled hybrid waterbed. They look like a regular mattress (though they will need extra support in the frame). When properly filled they give a wonderful nights sleep.

I spent a long time trying to find the perfect mattress. After experimenting with TempurPedic, regular mattresses, and others, I found the SleepNumber by Select Comfort. I found that humans need different beds depending on their moods. When I am ill, a firm bed helps keep my asleep, but other times, I need a very soft one. I recommend the SleepNumber, because the bed can change to fit your needs. It is also reasonably priced and comes with warranty.
