This is the equivalent of screaming on the Internet, and it makes whoever is typing it look idiotic. I just recommend avoidance in this practice.

Yes, I realize this is harsh. But it's basically like letting the person next to you know they have food in their beard, or they're dragging around toilet paper on their foot while they're trying to have a debate with you. I just felt it was the right thing to do.

I use caps for emphasis. And when I wish I could yell at the person. :P

I've used all caps to emphasize a word or phrase but when the whole reply is in caps, it feels like I'm being yelled at and that never gets a good response. If it's sporadic, then I assume they're crazy.

It is against netiquitte to use ALL CAPS for the entire message, but using all caps only on certain key words or phrases show their importance. Just as an orator varies the tone, pitch, speed, and volume during his delivery, doing the same in written form can break up the monotony.

YEAH an over use of CAPS in a sporadic fashion is annoying. But as I was reminded of this morning, it's not ALL Christians, just an annoying FEW.

(I made a generalization about blocking, and didn't specify that I was talking about a few that do.)

Unfortunatly I don't think text works here. ;)

So what would be your suggestion for emphasis over the internet without the use of text modifiers like , [i], [u]?
