The following excerpt forbids members from receiving Blood Transfusions:

"of the Holy Scriptures in this regard subject the dedicated, baptized receiver of blood transfusion to being disfellowshipped from the Christian congregation?
The inspired Holy Scriptures answer yes....According to the law of Moses, which set forth shadows of things to come, the receiver of a blood transfusion must be cut off from God's people by excommunication or disfellowshiping....if in the future he persists in accepting blood transfusions or in donating blood toward the carrying out of this medical practice upon others, he shows that he has really not repented, but is deliberately opposed to God's requirements. As a rebellious opposer and unfaithful example to fellow members of the Christian congregation he must be cut off therefrom by disfellowshiping." - The Watchtower 01/15/1961 pp. 63, 64

Moses Law is clearly laid down by GOD in

Leviticus 7 22-27
22
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 23 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘You shall not eat any fat, of ox or sheep or goat. 24 And the fat of an animal that dies naturally, and the fat of what is torn by wild beasts, may be used in any other way; but you shall by no means eat it. 25 For whoever eats the fat of the animal of which men offer an offering made by fire to the LORD, the person who eats it shall be cut off from his people. 26 Moreover you shall not eat any blood in any of your dwellings, whether of bird or beast. 27 Whoever eats any blood, that person shall be cut off from his people.’”

True Christians (such as Jehovah's Witnesses) understand that the requirements specific to the Mosaic Law ended with Christ's impalement. Even so, the Law's prohibition on the consumption of ceremonial animal fat didn't apply to non-Jewish foreigners (and interestingly, the Law also DID allow the fat to be used for other purposes).

By contrast with ceremonial animal fat, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the scriptures ALWAYS demonstrate a clear pattern indicating the sacredness with which Jehovah God (and thus god-fearing humankind) views ALL creature blood.

Predates Mosaic Law.
For example, over a thousand years before the birth of Moses, the pre-Israel, pre-Jewish, pre-Hebrew man Noah received what the scriptures record as only the second restrictive command on humans (after Garden of Eden's tree):

"Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. For your lifeblood I will surely require a reckoning; of every beast I will require it [that is, lifeblood] and of man" (Genesis 9:3-5)

Jewish Law.
Later, God's feeling regarding blood was codified into the Mosaic Law. This part of the Law dealing with blood was unique in that it applied, not just to Israel, but also to non-Jewish foreigners among them. It's also interesting that besides forbidding the consumption of blood, the Law also mandated that it be 'poured out on the ground', not used for any purpose.

"No person among you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger who sojourns among you eat blood. Any man also of the people of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, who takes in hunting any beast or bird that may be eaten shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust." (Lev 17:12,13)

By comparison, it's significant that the Law also forbid the consumption of ceremonial animal fat, but that didn't apply to non-Jewish foreigners and it DID allow the fat to be used for other purposes.

"The LORD said to Moses, "Say to the people of Israel, You shall eat no fat, of ox, or sheep, or goat. The fat of an animal that dies of itself, and the fat of one that is torn by beasts, may be put to any other use" (Lev 7:22-24)

Early Christian era.
The Christian era ended the validity of the Mosaic Law, but remember that the restriction on eating blood preceded the Mosaic Law by over a thousand years. Still, does the New Testament indicate that Jehovah God changed his view of blood's sacredness?

"[God] freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses" (Eph 1:6,7)

"[God's] beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins... and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood" (Colossians 1:13-20)

"we should not trouble those of the Gentiles who turn to God, but should write to them to abstain from the pollutions of idols and from unchastity and from what is strangled and from blood." (Acts 15:19,20)

"For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from unchastity." Acts 15:28,29

Modern times
Some will claim that the bible's command to "abstain" from blood only applies to eating it, and does not apply to the use of blood for other purpose. If that form of respect for blood were common among Christendom, one might wonder then why so many (who ostensibly follow the book of Acts) so happily eat their blood sausage and blood pudding if they truly respect blood according to some limited understanding of Acts 15:20,29. In fact, respect for blood and for Acts and for the Scriptures themselves is too rare among even supposedly god-fearing persons.

An honest review of the Scriptural pattern over the millenia from Noah to the Apostle Paul teaches humans that blood is to be used for a single purpose: acknowledging the Almighty. Otherwise, for centuries the instruction was to simply dispose of it; 'pour it upon the ground'. When Jehovah's Witnesses pursue non-blood medical management, they are working to honor and obey their Creator.

I already answered this question today, why are you asking it again????

Why don't you read the whole bible then maybe you'd understand why it's okay for Christians to eat fat, but not to eat blood.

edit: If you think we are still under the Mosaic Law, why do you eat fat? Do you eat pork? You would basically be practicing Judism if you follow the majority of the Mosaic Law. Do you celebrate the passover? Does your wife stay home when it's her time of the month because she is considered unclean? Since you consider yourself under the Mosaic Law, then your saying you break the law all the time.

Acts 15: 20 & 29 "..abstaining from blood" is in not part of the Mosaic Law, but was a Law given to the Christians. So God's Law regarding blood has never changed from the beginning done to today. The law regarding eating meat, fat, did change, because we are not under the Mosaic Law anymore. The Mosaic Law Covenant was made with the Israelites, we are Christians followers of Christ. Jesus fulfilled the law, it was null and voided by him. Jesus command was for us to "love our neighbor as ourselves" if we follow this command, we will not be committing adultery, coveting, etc....

Men under 50 are more at risk than women of the same age group. SMOKING is not for those who want to live a long and happy life. The probability that a long-term smoker will eventually be killed by tobacco is 1 in 2. The Bible says: "You must love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:39) Love for your neighbors—and your family members are your closest neighbors—is a powerful reason to quit. Smoking hurts others. Until recent times a smoker could light up just about anywhere and expect no objection. But attitudes are changing because more people understand the dangers of breathing in smoke that drifts from the cigarettes of others. For example, a nonsmoker who is married to a smoker has a 30-percent greater risk of developing lung cancer than if he or she were married to a nonsmoker. Children who live with parents who smoke are more likely to develop pneumonia or bronchitis in the first two years of life than are children who live in homes where no one smokes. Pregnant women who smoke endanger their unborn babies. The direct cost of cigarettes to the individual smoker is easy to calculate. If you smoke, multiply the amount of money you spend on cigarettes in one day by 365. That will show you how much money you spend in a year. Multiply that figure by ten, and you will see how much cigarettes will cost you if you smoke for another ten years. The result may surprise you. Think about what else you could do with that much money.

We are no longer under the Law. However, the prohibition not to eat blood still applies. Acts 15:29

Didn't you just asked this question?

The prohibition on blood started with Noah, then added to the law, and finally given to Christians.

of the three only the law is not binding on Christians today.

The commands to Noah were never removed.

Respect for blood kept a lot of people from getting AIDS and hepatitis, now they screen for those things, but who is to say what new germ will be passed on in the blood.

Sounds like you can eat the fat of any animal you kill that is not ox, sheep, or goat and as long as you cook away the blood.
