Yes. My daughter was diagnosed with it at 18 months old. But other symptoms and behaviors emerged as she matured.
At 14 years old, her diagnosis was changed to Asperger's disorder (auditory processing disorder is often a part of having Aspergers). For instance, by kindergarten, she could not perform a sequence of orally-given instructions such as "put the blue circle on the yellow triangle and then put both on the blue square".

Auditory processing disorder rarely "stands by itself".as a diagnosis and is often part of a larger condition. But when children are very young, it hard to arrive at a definitive diagnosis.

She had early intervention therapies for it but it has not gone away. Even as an teenager, she tells me to write things down and not orally give her more than 2 things to remember because she will not be able to process and remember all.
